Uhh... kidding? Geez, man, lighten up. Agree. If a player transferred out of MN we would say "Not Nebraska, not Nebraska" or "Not Wisconsin, not Wisconsin. I'm sure the poster was just having fun. I was thinking about where she might end up. And while she's a quality OH, that isn't really a need for Wisconsin or Nebraska next year. But for Minn looking for a Samedy replacement... |

Buzzerio's a good player & MN's a good program, which possibly might want her. Would you wish to deny her a good situation that might benefit her to satisfy what apparently is your own private dislike of that other program? Seems strange. Uhh... kidding? Geez, man, lighten up. Sorry. Good to know you were kidding. I apologize if I was too harsh. I'm not from MN but have maybe lived here too long? Need to guard against the MN-sports-fan paranoia. |

I believe Courtney Buzzerio would make a wonderful replacement for departing RS 6'4" Megan Cooney who was recently named all B1G and Northeast All-Region. I can promise her that she will be coached by one of the best, if not the best, young collegiate coaches in the country. In 5 seasons at Illinois, Chris Tamas has already reached 100 wins. His predecessor, Kevin Hambly, who is now at Stanford, won 140 during his coaching years at Illinois. I believe Courtney would love the volleyball culture at Illinois, both on the team, and that provided by the fans (the Spike Squad, Networkers, and Huff Gym faithful)! I think that's a fantastic wish list! Sure hoping we hear coaching news soon. A bit out of the blue but anyone have scoop on Rients' situation this past season? Missed her on the court (especially her blocking). And with losing both Clayton and Jones, we sure need her in 2022. She wasn't even on the sideline for most of the year. Hope all is ok with her. |

Iowa just needs to make the right hire. Bond was making steady progress. It won’t be easy or fast, but the right hire can get it done. It seems like Iowa us producing talent.

How attractive is this job? I love the University of Iowa.' IMO this is not an attractive job to any well informed candidate. These are my opinions. 1. I believe the vb program has one winning season since 2000. 2. Three head volleyball coaches have been fired or not renewed now. 3. While the AD had admin experience at some good schools, he only had full AD responsibility at one, Wyoming, for just three years when given the Iowa job. 4. The AD played football and has garnered many awards as an administrator of football. 5. There are several reports indicating that the AD and senior staff focus almost completely on football and basketball. 6. On this ADs watch, there has been an ongoing series of department lawsuits charging lack of supervision and indifference and ill treatment of female coaches. 7. In addition to football, the ADs other passion is facilities. 8. I've lost track, but this AD has has at least six messy firings, forced resignations or non-renewal situations of female head coaches. 9. I have the impression this AD has done a poorer job than some managing through the financial challenges of Covid. Sadly, I don't know if this AD is competent, but the strong impression is that he is hostile to a number of female coaches and indifferent to volleyball. Today, this job does not look attractive to me. |
