The door might be opened for Temple. Cincinnati is getting rolled by UCF.
I can easily see a scenario where Temple beating Cincinnati twice (at home) next weekend gives them a spot in the AAC Tournament. They'll need to take at least one from ECU this weekend.

What if the 3rd place team in the West is better than the 2nd place team in the East. Do they have a consideration for this scenario?

What if the 3rd place team in the West is better than the 2nd place team in the East. Do they have a consideration for this scenario? Doesn't make sense to do that this year, since there weren't matches that count in the conference standings against the other division. Memphis was up BIG in the 5th set at Houston but couldn't pull it off. Erratic Tulane somehow finds themselves in 2nd place in the west.. I didn't see that coming. Kudos to them. If they take down Wichita State again tomorrow, they have a great chance of making the AAC Tournament.

I thought Houston was done in the 5th but somehow still found the magic.
Tulane and WSU match had some crazy numbers. Tulane put them away in sets 3 and 4. But set 2 Tulane hit .460 and loss the set. WSU hit .550. Tulane Hitt.360 for the match!!
Tulsa had some close sets but can’t win a set vs SMU.

Wow. ECU was up big on Temple in set 1, but a huge run by Davenport at the service line gets them back in the set and Temple finds a way to steal the set, 25-23. This is a must win for Temple to keep their AAC Tournament hopes alive. South Florida can still mathematically qualify if they beat UCF twice and get some help from Temple/Cincinnati. That's not going to happen the way UCF has been playing this year. Free Stream: ecupirates.com/watch/?Live=1564&type=LiveWow. Temple down huge AGAIN in the 2nd set, and they've rallied back to tie it at 23 and force two ECU timeouts in this run.

Temple up 2-0 at ECU, -23, -25. They were down huge in both sets. Good stuff.
UCF/Cincinnati just started on ESPN+
ECU up 6-0 in set 3. Will they blow another big lead?

Houston sweeps Memphis. Gets 1st in West.
SMU beats Tulsa 3-0.
Tulane beats WSU 3-2. Have a strong hold on 2nd.

UCF is #1 East and Houston is #1 West
I'm assuming these are the scenarios in the East: -Cincinnati needs to win just one match against Temple to be #2 East. -South Florida must win both against UCF AND have Cincinnati lose twice to Temple. -Temple needs to beat Cincinnati twice AND have UCF beat South Florida at least once.
In the West, it's down to Tulane/SMU for #2. If Tulane splits with Tulsa, and SMU sweeps Memphis, they would both be tied at 6-4. Does anyone know the conference tie-breaker scenarios?

If Tulane splits with Tulsa, and SMU sweeps Memphis, they would both be tied at 6-4. Does anyone know the conference tie-breaker scenarios? 2020-21 Women's Volleyball Sport Regulations & Policies
Championship Qualifying and Seeding Requirements/Procedures
At the conclusion of the regular season both divisions are ranked separately by the following tiebreakers as long as all divisional matches have been played. Two‐team tie: - Results of head‐to‐head match record.
- Results of head‐to‐head set record.
- Results of head‐to‐head point differential.
- Each team's record vs. the team occupying the highest position in the final divisional standings (or in the case of a tie for the championship, the next highest position in the division standings), continuing down through the standings until one team gains an advantage. (a) When arriving at another pair of tied teams while comparing records, use each team's record against the collective tied teams as a group (prior to their own tie‐breaking procedures), rather than the performance against the individual tied teams. (b) When comparing records against a single team or a group of teams, the higher winning percentage shall prevail, even if the number of sets played against the team or group are unequal (i.e., 2‐0 is better than 3‐1, but 2‐0 is not better than 1‐0).
- Won‐loss percentage of all Division I opponents.
- Coin toss conducted by the Commissioner or designee.
If teams within a division do not play all division matches (e.g., East = 8; West= 10) then the following tie‐breaking protocol will be followed to rank the teams within each division. << math goes here >>

If teams within a division do not play all division matches (e.g., East = 8; West= 10) then the following tie‐breaking protocol will be followed to rank the teams within each division. << math goes here >> Thanks for this! SMU and Tulane split their H2H series. They both won 3-1 and lost 3-1, so that knocks out tiebreakers 1 and 2. Then, SMU and Tulane had an EVEN point differential. Tulane was +7 on Day 1 and -7 on Day 2... Juicy! On to #4.. Both lost both matches to Houston. So it comes down to who finishes #4-6 in the standings. I actually see SMU likely winning the tiebreaker. The only way this tiebreaker will even come into play is if Tulsa beats Tulane at least once, which would bump Tulsa up in the standings if Wichita State doesn't beat undefeated Houston this weekend. A Tulsa/Tulane split would put Tulsa/Wichita State even and then the tiebreaker would be moot through #4, and SMU will win tie-breaker #5 (which I'm not sure I agree with AT ALL). They should do an overall points percentage or point differential from top to bottom before bringing non-conference into the play.

I see Memphis beating SMU a match more than Tulsa beating Tulane. Memphis coming off 2 wins over Wichita. Odds are much higher for Tulane IMO. Tulane hit .360 against a good blocking/defensive Wichita team. They are coming into form.
Not sure who gets 2nd in the East.

Looks like this weekend is all non conference games. Houston vs Baylor will be interesting. SMU vs Texas Tech. Tulane vs USF but isn’t conference.

Someone said Houston has no chance against Baylor... we need to show 'em! North Texas rolled Texas Tech last night, so hopefully SMU handles business. SMU also hopes that Rice can beat Baylor or Texas. It might give them a chance to get at-large consideration. Half of SMU's losses came without their setter (who was AAC setter of the year).

Tulane got swept at South Florida.
Encouraging news for SMU. I still think that race could come down to tie breakers!
