My bet is the pools were done this past weekend, not taking into account NLQ. Btw, here is the link to the remaining pools not to be posted by PrepVolleyball, also includes 13's and 14's: www.triplecrownvolleyball.com/power-pools.html

As I understand (due to geography) the 1st day Pool matchups - TAV, Houston Skyline, and MAVS were not going to play each other the 1st day. COAST was open to play any of the other 7 teams. Mintonette, Munciana, Legacy, and Sky High weren't going to play each other. Given that set of rules - those last 4 teams were highly likely to have a brutal 1st day. Well I get the geography rule, but Kansas City isn’t very close to those Texas teams. How is Illinois and Indiana any further from Kansas City than Dallas and Houston? I don't know the schedules for all the tournaments - but it is my understanding that they actively place matchups that are not otherwise occurring during the year. I suspect that Mavs are playing in tournaments and qualifiers along with TAV and Houston Skyline. As for the 4 teams from Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan - I am guessing they are scheduled to see each other at some point during the year?

Did I read this correctly - the top 8 teams in PV rankings are all playing in the tournament (and all in Power Pool A)? That is going to be a very fun couple of courts to be watching on Saturday afternoon! Yep. If you're unfamiliar, this is the best tournament of the year. You could make an argument for the Open division of GJNCs, but this one also includes all of the top JVDA clubs (except Sports Performance). Sadly, no live streaming this year. Organizers said they talked to multiple vendors but none could guarantee the quality they required. It is a great perk to live in the KC area. Really enjoyed last year. Couldn't move w/o stepping over the video cameras so there has to be some way to see this after the fact for $'s. Another thing - if they were to use 4 courts to stream - it probably would have been the 4 courts in the middle with more space and viewing area. However, on Monday they were playing the top 18's at the very end of Bartle which would probably be more difficult to stream. They could 'easily' stream Power Pool A for 18's and 17's on Saturday - and frankly that would also have the most interest among people unable to attend.

Ballertv has been streaming more and more volleyball tournament these days. yes, they are picking up most of the qualifiers and Flo picks up most of the JVA stuff. Between the two of them it's a pretty good way to view a lot of content throughout the club season. It's utter blasphemy that triple crown can't find a way to stream even just a few courts.

Northern Lights in Power Pool B seems like they got underseeded. They looked awefully good last week. This is good draw for them day 1. I don't see NL having to much trouble here. Except that finishing 1st in Pool B gets you the #9 overall seed for the tournament and finishing #8 in Pool A gets you #8. Really not much difference between #8 and #9 - but the 'good' draw would be getting into Pool A to start with. Not saying that NL belongs there, but that they are probably better off if in Pool A.

Right. The downside to being in Pool B is that if you're actually one of the top teams in the tournament, you're going to run into the winner of Pool A (presumably the best team in the tournament) in the quarterfinals. However, I just went through the last three years of 15s-18s. The ultimate champion came out of Pool A all but one time (in 2019, Premier Nebraska 15s won out of Pool B). Maybe more surprising is that the winner of Pool A only won the tournament 3 out 12 times. 2nd in Pool A won twice. 4th in Pool A won once. But apparently the best thing you can do is come in 3rd place in Pool A. That team has won most often - 5 out of 12 champions.

Pool A also gives you a far better draw for who you play on Day 2. It is far better to go 0-3 in Pool A on day 1 than going 2-1 in Pool B. Your Day 2 is easier so your final finish will be higher. Not really a criticism because I really like this tournament and it is hard to shake out 64 teams over three days. this way is better than most. If they could profitably run this as 32-36 invite only teams, there would be more possibilities but you get handcuffed when you have over 100 teams per age to shuffle.

Anyone have pool for 17s? Also why are pools for a tournament being released through a pay site?

Anyone have pool for 17s? Also why are pools for a tournament being released through a pay site? The pools that are already up can be found here.. www.triplecrownvolleyball.com/power-pools.htmlI'm sure PrepVolleyball paid something to be able to release those pools early because it is all about money.. For PV and TC.. Not saying that as a bad thing. Just reality.
