Hopefully LBSU’s transfer setter can come in immediately and set at a high level. The pieces are there to have a good season with above average setting. Anyone know the name of the transfer coming in? What happened to Tuaniga?

Anyone know the name of the transfer coming in? What happened to Tuaniga? She is going to USC and they have a log jam at setter next year. Will be interesting in seeing what that staff does with their setter position. There are a few good setters still in the transfer portal and it would be nice if LBSU can pick one up.

Wish all the schools did this since there was no regular season. Their schools volleyball fans would really enjoy the scrimmage.

I watched UCD vs UCI. Am I the only one? I have waited for comments from their fans. Nothing. I thought the best player on the court was UCD's #3. I looked her up on UCD's website and she is only a freshman.

Anyone know the name of the transfer coming in? What happened to Tuaniga? Some delusional Long Beach State fan created a thread naming an entire era after Tuaniga even before she played one set as a 49er. That was like casting one of the biggest jinxes in women's college volleyball history. The jinx worked and now Tuaniga is gone even before she played one set as a shark. Hahaha
Tuaniga could of been the next Sabrina Hernandez, an all American setter for the Beach but now she is more like Schea Cotton. Both Tuaniga and Cotton went to Mater Dei high school. Cotton was tabbed by Sports Illustrated as the Next Michael Jordan. He basically had the hype of LeBron James before LeBron James. Schea Cotton committed to play for Long Beach St. to play along side his older brother James Cotton. Well his brother James left early to declare for the NBA Draft and Schea never played a game for Long Beach State or the NBA.

I looked her up on UCD's website and she is only a freshman. UCI defeated Davis 3-1 (25-19,16-25,25-17,25-16). Considering in the last season that was played, Davis finished 4th and UCI finished last in the Big West I would call this a good showing for UCI. UCI had 5 players from last season missing from this match. Three of those were seniors that graduated and probably moved on. I would guess out of the five, 3 or 4 were on scholarship. But the only incoming UCI recruit I'm aware of is Megan Hanson. So I'm guessing UCI will look to bring in a handful of transfers for the upcoming season. UCI has very little experience and has a need at libero, middle blocker and opposite.

Why do you feel the need to compare Mia to anyone else? She didn't create any threads about herself. Just let the kid create her own story. Your post comparing her a male professional basketball player is more stupid than the thread created by the Long Beach fan.

If you're irritated then it's working. That's what rival fans do. LOL
I'm comparing more the surrounding hype delusional Long Beach State fans had for both players. Based on hype generated on messageboards by the Long Beach State fandom that ended in big disappointment Schea Cotton and Mia Tuaniga are up there in the top 3 all time fan hype busts.

Nothing you have posted about Tuaniga could be described as "truth".

Nothing you have posted about Tuaniga could be described as "truth". Speak for yourself. bwf2 you were one of the biggest parts of the Tuaniga hype train. You basically declared her the best setter in the Big West even before she played one collegiate match. So I am happy to point out all that hype of what Tuaniga will do for Long Beach State you help generated didn't pan out. Hahahahahahaha

I want to see the conference get stronger, not weaker. Losing Tuaniga to the Pac, Marjama to Bama, Hellvig to pro, Dvoracek to a knee injury, half the UCSB roster to transfers... It is all bad for the conference and bad for UCI. Your shortsighted "trash talk" doesn't change that.

She got a scholarship, as a transfer to USC without even playing match in the Big West. He's also already got Lazaro + a talented setter coming in, so, Tuaniga is probably pretty special for him to bite on that.

For the record I feel the same way as you do about hating top players leaving the conference for whatever reason.
But I can multi task. I can poke fun at the Long Beach St. fans whose expectations have blown up to the size of a blimp because of the out of control Tuaniga hype while at the same time not being happy about another top player departing.
I don't doubt bwf2's assessment of Tuaniga's skills. It's probably spot on. My problem has always been let Tuaniga get some wins under her belt first before slapping on the praise extra thick. Praise someone for their accomplishments and not their potential.
