They will be loaded with Frohling, Lukes, Fayad and Turner. Lots of weapons, should win the WCC again

Didn't play vs Hawai'i, 2 sets vs Washington. 3rd weekend she only played against UCSB and sat for Harvard and La Salle...I wonder if that was an injury. Preseason I didn't get to watch much.

Yeah, this team is really good. Frohling is super underrated. IDK about underrated. She got HM all-american last year. She is not underrated. She is very good. HM AA status is an honor. Now, if SD makes the Sweet 16 like I predict, then Frohling deserves at least 2nd team AA!! I predict a conference title a seed, and a Sweet 16 run, unless they don't get seeded and end up in UCLA for 1st weekend

I believe Frohling and Lukes will be AA this year. USD usually schedules a very tough non conference schedule, looking forward to seeing the 2020 schedule. Future is very bright for USD

Whenever I see "San Diego {insert anything here}," my mind fills in the blank with "Comic-Con" as in "San Diego Comic-Con."

Wow rewatching this team from last year Anna newsome has FANTASTIC location Newsome was really really good last year. Not the fastest setter but once she got her hands on a ball she was always put in a great spot. Absolutely lethal on 2, too. Very underrated. They do a great job with their setters. A couple years earlier they had Gengenbacher too who was WCC POY and an absolutely stellar setter.

Newsome and Frohling are as good as any duo in the country. But, Hilliard moving on was a big loss. I don't think you can replace that type of coaching talent. Hopefully, this is not a Beach situation with tons of talent and not getting significant results. On the other hand Hilliard and Timmons pairing should take the State program ( that lacks top talent, ) to their best results ever pretty quickly.

This year it will come down to setting as Madill will be leading the team. If she is as good as I think she is, this is definitely a top 15 team. Tons of weapons (Lukes, Frohling, Fayad and Turner) and a very good libero (Benbow). As far as coaching goes, sometimes a change is good after 20 years together with Petrie, although Hillard was a great hire by SDSU

In terms of improvements; Benbow's ball control is an obvious area. She passed a 2.18 last year compared to the top liberos in the conference like Lake and Lishman who passed 2.35 and 2.33. If she can get to that kind of level and the setting doesn't fall from the standard that Newsome reached, I could see SD being a real threat in the tournament.
