Probably makes sense to open a central thread for info sharing and discussion.

Right now the only listed professional impacts are in Italy and with the CEV competitions. I highlighted the information we had as of Monday in the following link. volleyballmag.com/international-men-031020/One thing to note, the ZAKSA - Kuzbass match (featuring Dave Smith) in the CEV Champions League quarterfinals will be played behind closed doors, although neither the Russian or Polish leagues have implemented that policy in their own domestic matches.

Any talk of cancelling club tourneys or nationals or High Performance? SCVA implemented a no pre or post-game handshake rule for the last 14u tourney - probably in a bit of a wait and see mode now. Plenty of time until nationals and hp, so again, probably see how things play out the next couple weeks/months? Strange times...

Any talk of cancelling club tourneys or nationals or High Performance? I was told they do not plan on cancelling any of the events. Adults, Juniors, HP, and or any qualifiers. I was talking to someone from USA on the phone and that was the latest they gave me. "Which was this past weekend" This is getting way out of hand smh!!!

I am worried that the coronavirus will impact the nations most underrated and miss understood weeks, the division 3 championships. So many young and unrecognized players fighting hard for a chance to prove themselves in the doggy dog world of men’s volleyball. I pray thoroughly that we aren’t stripped of this landmark weekend.

Any talk of cancelling club tourneys or nationals or High Performance? I think the only bud tournament left is East Coast Championships in Richmond which is scheduled over Memorial Day weekend. One would think they'd be in the clear for that

This Email was sent from John Hughes WEVA Director (WNY Boys Club Volleyball):
PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES IN RESPONSE TO CORONAVIRUS COVID – 19
Commencing with this weekend’s WEVA and club events and continuing until further notice, WEVA is implementing the following amendment to match protocol.
The match will begin with both teams lined up on their respective end lines.
The first referee will proceed to the stand and beckon the teams to the court.
The teams will then proceed to their respective attack lines. Once there they will wave to each other, optionally exchange verbal goods wishes, wave to the crowd and proceed to their positions on the court for the line-up check.
During any subsequent side changes, players and coaches should avoid any direct contact. That being the intent, we will continue using the old method of changing sides around the first referee.
At the conclusion of the match, the first referee will send teams, players and coaches to the end lines. They will then be again beckoned to their respective attack lines to exchange greetings and congratulations from there.
This is not optional. The well-being of our players, coaches staff members and families has to be our top priority.
All teams are asked to bring hand sanitizer and encourage all to use for the safety of all players, coaches, staff and families.
All WEVA run events will have hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes available.
Thanks for your help
WEVA BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Trentino (with Aaron Russell) was scheduled to play two CEV Champions League matches against Jastrzebski Wegiel in Maribor, Slovenia this week. Instead of a home and home, they were both going to take place on a neutral site on subsequent days.
The CEV decided to postpone not only matches scheduled in Italy, but any matches involving Italian teams.

Austria has banned people entering the country from Italy unless they carry a medical certificate, in an attempt to stop coronavirus spreading.
Austria has seen 158 cases of coronavirus so far.
By contrast, Italy has had more than 10,000 cases and 631 deaths.
Italian's travel is basically becoming a no-go
