There are three American players at Verona (Chavers, Franciskovic, Muagututia). The picture is from a meeting they had to go over procedures to stop the spread of the virus. The distance between the chairs is not an accident. *Sorry I could not get the picture to load* The players sill have training, balls are disinfected, temps are taken of the players beforehand, and half of the players are in another locker room. The players also go from home to training, with the exception of the team restaurant they go to at lunch (but are instructed not to sit close together).

Parents- watch your child play if play goes on. Pay much attention to teammates and opponents coughing and don't be afraid to ask them to go home, and pay attention to your child to make sure that they don't do things to introduce themselves to the coronavirus, or any virus. What before has been bothersome personal behavior like "fixing" hair, or touching the face, or worse, chewing fingernails is now behavior that probably won't cause death for any young participants, but if my kids were playing I would not allow them to see their grandparents for a few weeks. FaceTime instead of in person visits. Handshakes aside, they are all touching the same germ infested ball, sitting on the same chairs, using the same bathrooms etc.

Were I the parent of Lewis, or any MIVA player given that many teams will play Lewis in the next couple weeks, I'd be a little concerned that Lewis played at Stanford the weekend before Stanford shut the campus down, and that Sacramento has just given up on containment and has shifted to mitigation, basically delclaring itself a hot zone, at least according to NPR. Lindenwood in So Cal and probably LAX last week would give me concern as well. Almost all 20 year olds will probably just get sick, but they should stay away from grandparents for sure, and older college employees. Looks like Ohio State just shut down campus as well. As the parent of a 20 something, I can say that they feel somewhat immortal. Ahh Youth. Parents, please talk to your adult children about minimizing their exposure and taking any illness seriously.

March madness and all NCAA winter championships to be played without spectators.
Really not looking good for spring sports/conclusion of the volleyball season. Didn’t think it would escalate this quickly.

Right now it’s everyone job not to panic and hoard supplies but to do there part and be well connected to their local department of heath. Wash your hands stay at home if you are sick. Check on those who are elderly compromised and offer to do a grocery run. There is a lot we don’t know because we were not looking for this virus but s suggest it has been circulating in communities for sometime. Public health decisions with be rapidly evolving and the hope is to flatten the curve of transmission to keep from overwhelming hospitals and save lives.

A Juventus player was just tested positive. For those who aren’t familiar with soccer, they are the top team in Italy and one of the most popular in the world. Ronaldo’s team.
This is going to have massive implications on sports across the world, it was just a matter of time before something like this happened.

I guess that might increase their attendance- unintended consequences?

Either we are being lied to about the severity of this illness or EVERYONE is overreacting You should get the Coronavirus, then it would be interesting what you say then. This is not a game we are playing with the Coronavirus. It is very, very serious, dying serious.
