Any word if clubs are cancelling practices? Our club is meeting this afternoon to make determination. Our club just shut its doors for two weeks.

Sitting here at my kid's practice right now. Regional tourneys up through 22 Mar are postponed/cancelled. Club is continuing to practice until further notice. Guarantee it will be tied to when schools close when we stop practicing.

Any word if clubs are cancelling practices? For now, Long Island clubs are going to keep practicing. Depending on how the next few days go, good chance of a hiatus after this week. New York HS Association cancelled all of their winter championships, they might be the first state to do so, and it's the right move with multiple schools reporting cases. They had been playing behind closed doors for the last few days. Rumor is that spring sports are on the chopping block and a final decision could be made within the next week.

Coach boys here in New Rochelle (the "epicenter") - for NYC CHSAA like you said all winter sports have been ended and all Spring sports suspended indefinitely...my school is closed until March 26 the earliest. Holding out a tiny bit of hope for the season to pick up in April with a shortened schedule but not anything close to optimistic. Freaking sucks. My seniors have worked so hard.

USAV has suspended all sanctioning for club practices and tournaments through the end of the month.
Great job by USAV here.
Going to go out on a limb and say that the club season is pretty much finished. Right now, I'm hoping we could possibly start back up in mid-May and get east coast and BJNC in.

May 22 is still months away and we could be out of the woods by then, I am confident about Reno as far as the outbreak, but unsure of the logistics from a scheduling perspective

I posted this video on the CIF thread, and seems even more relevant here. I think our best bet for mitigating the overall impact is to collectively respect the disease and take this very seriously NOW. Everything in the foreseeable future is pretty much cancelled anyways, so what do we have to lose by playing it super safe these next few weeks (and I don't mean by buying all the toilet paper at Costco).
Infectious disease expert and Director of CIDRAP, Michael Osterholm straight-talking with Joe Rogan a few days ago on the current situation and what we should be ready for regarding the corona virus:
"My job is not to scare you out of your wits, it's to scare you into your wits."
As I said in the other post, I hope this situation is not as serious as him and others are predicting and we're back to volleyball (and our lives in general) sooner than later, but I think putting our heads in the sand and chalking this up as "just another flu" is very reckless.

Countries are shutting down to essential movements only.
We are on our way shortly.
Thank god we didnt trust Fox News and this current administration.
Time to do our jobs and help one another by making altruistic choices.
