I've always wanted to watch the Men's Beach Volleyball quarter-finals at the 1996 Summer Olympics. The match between Kiraly/Steffes vs Smith/Henkel. I've read so much about it but I can't seem to find it online anywhere. Does anyone know where to find that match?

I've always wanted to watch the Men's Beach Volleyball quarter-finals at the 1996 Summer Olympics. The match between Kiraly/Steffes vs Smith/Henkel. I've read so much about it but I can't seem to find it online anywhere. Does anyone know where to find that match? I have not been able to either. I saw it once on a VHS that my grandma had recorded. I remember it being on during the day at a time in which I was not home. I didn't worry because it was scheduled to be showed in the late night coverage as a replay. That never happened because the bombing happened that night. It was a crazy match that was clearly the highlight of the first beach Olympic tournament. There was an AVP/FIVB rivalry going on leading into the games. At that point in time there was a lot of pride, maybe hubris if you will, harnessed by the players in the AVP. I want to say the top two seeds were FIVB teams (one from Brazil, then Smith/Henkel at two). Smith and Henkel were up like 12-9 before Kiraly and Steffes prevailed 17-15 in a match that almost took an hour. The two AVP teams (Dodd/Whitmarsh being the other) finished 1-2 with a team from Canada earning the bronze.

This isn't the whole video, but it is about 15 minutes at the end of the Lube/Zenit match last year in the Club World Championships. This match featured Matt Anderson and ended up being a prequel for the finals of the Champions League that year. This was in incredibly impressive comeback.

This is the finals of the 2018 Club World Championships. Aaron Russell had a great tournament.

I know there might not be much interest in this match, but it is an absolute classic. It was a classic not only for the play on the court, but in the context of volleyball before and after. This was the first season I started following professional volleyball as I was searching the shady sports streaming sites looking for some men's volleyball in the fall before the college season started. I fell in love with Piacenza because they had Max Holt and Futi Tavana (although Tavana did not really see the court in his rookie season).
Trentino had won the Italian Cup that year and their fourth consecutive Club World Championship. They finished the regular season on top of the table, and had only dropped one match in all of 2013. They had Juantorena, Jan Stokr, Matey Kayzisky, Raphael setting, Biarelli, and they were so stacked at the pins that Mitar Djuric was starting at middle. This was the last match they would play together as after the season Juantorena, Kayziski, Raphael, Djuric, and their coach (Stoychev) would leave for Halkban Ankara (where they would reach the Champions League final).
Piacenza was in a unique position. They had Alesandro Fei, Hristo Zlatanov, and Samuele Papi at the pins. They all have had their best volleyball behind them and were decorated Italian NT members with many WL, World Cup and World Championship titles between them (as well as Olympic medals). They also had some young players who would soon become giants in world volleyball. It was DeCecco's first year with the club and he was not quite the number one setter in Argentina. Max Holt had been a pro in Italy for a few years, but this was the first year his team had made a run in the playoffs. He also had not broken into the national team as a regular yet in the A team. This was Robertlandy Simon's first year as a professional after defecting from Cuba.
This best-of-five series went back and forth over the first four matches. The home team always won and the match never went past four sets. The PaloTrento was the site of the fifth and deciding match, it went five sets, and this was without Raphael, who broke his finger in the previous match. There were huge momentum shifts and a great comeback.

Has anybody ever seen a full replay of USA v. Italy in the Rio semis? I just need to understand how that fourth set was dropped because I didn’t see it live

In hindsight, this video probably belongs on the defunct Political Forum.

2018 Champions League final. Definitely one of the top matches of all time. Anderson, Leon, Mikhaylov, Butko vs Micah, Taylor, Sokolov, Juantorena, Grebennikov. An insane five setter. Leon scores an ace to win in the 5th set 17-15 as his last point in Kazan.
