I heard this from a very trustworthy source, of a heart attack. No announcement yet. He was the HC at Xavier U in Cincinnati for many years.
Floyd never minced words, and you always knew where you stood with him. Sometimes that is a problem with some people, but I'd always appreciated his bluntness.

Oh no! I haven't seen Floyd in a number of years, but I got to know him pretty well during his time at Xavier. Great guy! RIP

Sorry, this is hard for me. Please excuse me bumping this thread. Floyd was very big part of my life and I feel like his accomplishments and contributions to the sport are far too easily ignored.
You could not be soft and play for him at Xavier. Every year, he had a collection of hard-ass kids. He understood what kind of player would be successful there and recruited them well. For almost two decades, Xavier volleyball was tough.
He never had a losing season at Xavier. More importantly, he has a network of people he impacted who were forever loyal to him. This one hurts real bad.
