Bergamo: Prandi, Lanier, Enright, Dumančić, Moretto, Faucette-Johnson and Fersino.
Volleyball Mercato makes a different starting line-up prediction that this but I think mine might be more effective. We shall see. Though I do think it is unlikely that Natalia Valentin will completely ride the bench, I do think that Prandi got plenty of playing time with this team last season when Mirković struggled. Unfortunately due to the foreigner limit, this team cannot play what I think is it's strongest line-up. I just don't see Dumančić sitting the bench either especially after her long run at Schweriner the past three seasons in Germany. The other interesting element is veteran Italian OH Francesca Marcon. At 37 she appears to still be going strong. I just feel like Lanier and Enright are the teams strongest OH duo. With both Opposites being foreign....that gets a bit tough to navigate the line-up. Lanier is significantly taller than the rest of the OH's but if she struggles to pass she will get replaced by either Loda or Marcon thus allowing Valentin to set.
I think this team has a chance to make play-offs but just barely. I could see them landing anywhere from 8th-10th.

Oops I meant to delete the 2018/2019 part... that's not relevant to determining who will be in the Super Cup ... just the order of determination is. Unless the league/federation changes those sets of rules cause of Covid It will either be Busto or Novara. I hope it's Novara. Is Poulter even in Italy yet? From the looks of social media, nope. Doesn't look like Washington is either.

Caserta: Bruna Lemos, Bokan, Dimitrova, Iacca, Padula, Kubura and Norgini.
This team is an enigma to me at this moment. Of all of the foreigners on the roster only one, Kubura, came from a semi-decent league/team last year (Dresdner). Add to that the fact that most of the domestic players on the roster came from Serie B1/B2....I don't think this team will win many matches AGAIN this year. I will be shocked if they are not in last place all season long.

And finally Busto Arsizio: Poulter, A. Gray, Piccinini, Stevanović, Herrera-Blanco, Mingardi and Leonardi.
I am curious how this team will perform. On paper I think they will land somewhere between 3rd-6th in the league. Mingardi was the work horse for Brescia last season but didn't have a lot of help from the other pins. I also am not entirely sure who out of Gennari and Piccinini will start. Both are Italian staples and bring a ton of experience to the roster. Stevanović and Alexa Gray are huge arms for this team. Gray's passing is a bit poor but the team has 5 OH's and only 1 Opp. So if Mingardi struggles I could see one of them stepping up on the right side. We shall see where Poulter leads this team with much excitement and anticipation!

I wish Amber Rolfzen hadn't retired. I wanted to see more of her in Italy.

Well, if she wants to keep playing at the top level, and her body allows her to do that (that's the amazing part), plus a pro team is willing to hire her, then that's all good.

I don't think the league is prepared to begin this early on and follow a strict safety protocol, not to mention the players that are having problems getting there who then will also have to go into a 14 quarantine before being able to even train with the team.

Caserta is out and Trentino Rosa is in. 13 teams is the final count for this league.
