Vakifbank (Istanbul) - CEV Champions League Coach: Giovanni Guidetti (ITA)
S: Maja Ognjenović (SRB) S: Cansu Özbay* OH: Michelle Bartsch-Hackley (USA) OH: Gabi Guimarães (BRA) OH: Meliha Ismailoglu* OH: Tugba Senoglu* OPP: Isabelle Haak (SWE) OPP: Gözde Yilmaz* MB: Milena Rasić (SRB) MB: Zehra Günes* MB: Kübra Akman* MB: Melis Gürkaynak L: Hatice Gizem Örge* L: Ayça Aykaç*

This will probably be the most common line-up we will see this season.
1: Ozbay, Bartsch-Hackley, Guimarães, Akman, Günes, Haak and Örge. (Ognjenović and Yilmaz on the double sub)
Günes, Haak and Örge will start every single important domestic match. The reason is that there is a significant drop in performance between Haak and Yilmaz, Günes and Gürkaynak and Örge and Aykaç.
Ismailoglu will come in for Bartsch-Hackley if she struggles at serve receive. More than likely across the back row for three rotations. Rasic has a wicked serve and will probably come in for Akman or Günes to serve and play defense as she is slightly more mobile in the back court.
Now when it comes to Champions League and Club World Championships, there is not foreigner limit. Here is the best the team can field:
Ognjenović, Bartsch-Hackley, Guimarães, Rasić, Günes, Haak and Örge. Ismailoglu in for Günes to serve and (maybe) Ozbay and Yilmaz on the double sub once per set.
This team should be the league champion....again. But are they the best in the world?

Eczacibasi VitrA (Istanbul) - CEV Champions League Coach: Marco Aurélio Motta (BRA)
S: Sladjana Mirković (SRB) S: Elif Sahin* OH: Hande Baladin* OH: Saliha Sahin OH: Fatma Yildirim* OH: Jordan Thompson (USA) MB: Yasemin Guveli* MB: Beyza Arici* MB: Chiaka Ogbogu (USA) MB: Merve Atlier OPP: Tijana Bosković (SRB) OPP: Melis Durul* L: Simge Sebnem Akoz* L: Melisa Memis

Probable domestic starting line-up:
E. Sahin, Baladin, Thompson, Ogbogu, Guveli, Bošković and Aköz. (Mirkovic and Durul come in on the double sub and Yildirim to serve for Ogbogu or Guveli once per set).
The only problem with this line-up is passing could get shaky. Baladin has improved miles in this discipline over the past few years but Yildirim is the better passer. Her only problem is that she is undersized and struggles vs. a bigger block.
Mirković to me is a bit too erratic of a setter. Some sets are spot on and some are just bad. This has been the case last year at Bergamo and the year prior at Chemik Police. Sahin, while younger, is taller and is already on Guidetti's radar for the NT. She will definitely have to prove herself so I am anxious to see what she can deliver. Plus it makes no sense to have three huge arms in Thompson, Ogbogu and Bošković and not use all three of them as often as possible. Granted, in some matches Thompson and E. Sahin could be used on the double sub and Mirković would then start. That is likely what we will see through out the domestic season. Depending on the opponent, the team will alternate between those two starting line-up variants.
A third version could be that Mirković starts along with Arici and Ogbogu and E. Sahin sit the bench. With Thompson and Baladin both passing, the chances to run the middle may be few. Chiaka is the most offensive threat hands down out of this teams middles. All three (Arici, Guveli and Ogbogu) block at about the same level IMO.
Concerning Champions League the line-up is clear:
Mirković/E. Sahin, Thompson, Baladin, Ogbogu, Guveli, Bošković and Aköz.
I think most of us are excited to see how this team pans out!

Fenerbahce is pretty much the same as last year with one big difference. Buša instead of Robinson, which was not a good trade IMO.
Akyol, Mihajlović, Buša, Dündar, Guidetti, Vargas and Sarioglu.
I think this teams passing unit is the worst out of all of the top tier Turkish domestic teams this season. Which is a shame because they have top tier middles that won't get run except maybe in free-ball or transitional opportunities. They will be almost exclusively out of system. But hey...they have the firepower on the pins to make it work most of the time. Expect to see lots of 5 setters from this team, especially against a good blocking team. Cansu Çetin and Ipar Kurt might just see some court time this season coming in to pass along the back row or when Buša is struggling in general to put the ball away. Either way....expect tons of sets to go to Mihajlović and Vargas. I hope they are ready to do all the offensive work. Such a shame when Dündar is arguably one of the best Middles in the game right now.
I still think this team will finish in the top 4, I am just not sure yet where between 2nd and 4th. This is of course speculation based on what we see on paper. We all know reality is always much different.

I don't know if the club is hurting financially and isn't able to hire more than one foreigner or if they decided to just go with mostly domestic talent which is cool if that is the case. So needless to say...I won't be making a line-up prediction as I am very unfamiliar with all by Olesia Rykhliuk on the team. I am slightly familiar with Akin and Eroglu from previous seasons so I think they might start. Basically one can assume that the older players will probably start but, then again, that isn't always the case is it? I welcome any feedback from anyone more familiar with the domestic players on this roster. Edit 10/19/20: Kosheleva just signed with the club after having visa issues getting into China. This helps the team out quite a bit IMO.

I think this team has some serious firepower on the pins and through the middle. I think they could finish in the top 5 this year.
