I didn’t see a PAC-12 2020 thread, so I thought I would start one!
Hopefully the season starts on time. I think it will be an interesting year. Utah looks to be very strong and may be the favorite to win the conference. UCLA should also be very good.

I wouldn't underestimate Stanford.

I wouldn't underestimate Stanford. Oh, definitely not. Very young team though.

Happy to see both signed professional contracts in the last couple of months btw.

They also have Kennedi Evans returning from taking last season off. I believe Grace and Evans were the starting duo in 2018 when Oblad was injured, they went to the tourney with a similar roster to what they'll have this year. Doehrmann might be harder to replace, but I don't know a lot about Utah's backups because she was basically the only one playing most matches.

Stephens played DS in 2019 but she passed so badly (1.87 grade, 40% good pass percentage) that I can't see any way they run with her at libero. They have Dong, who redshirted 2019, so she'll compete for libero I'd guess. They must have a strong libero in the incoming class but relying on freshman is always risky. The other thing I'll say about Utah is they are one injury away from being very average. That's the issue with being so dominant on two players. Obviously every top team has a best player, but Utah really can't afford to lose either Drews or Koerber whereas I think Washington, Stanford or UCLA all have more depth on their rosters.

Who would be Washington's libero? It's amazing how many schools in the Pac will have a new libero in 2020: Stanford, Washington, Washington State, Utah, UCLA, USC, Cal, Colorado, Arizona State. Am I missing anyone???

Well her and her sister both came from a good club, so that's to be expected!

Future Duck Morse played for "that" good club five or six years, the last three another club, excited to see how her game translates in the PAC.

Worth noting that while Murphy had a good freshman campaign in Oregon, Mai Mai was equally strong in Arizona. It'll be interesting to see who is the best libero in the conference next year. Lots of new faces.

Am I missing anyone??? Yes, but the concern for the Huskies is more along the lines that not only was their libero a senior, but also the only other DS with a large amount of college match experience was also a senior. And none of the known incoming new players are identified as being "the new libero", so we're all wondering whether there is a plan or whether it's just going to be a case of "whichever DS-type player plays herself into the role".

I'm with you. I know they have been trying. Cook has tried to land an impact L from the portal but there really haven't been many available.
