When we will know for sure if its a go? Since we can't watch anything in Cali this summer, we are heading to Oshkosh to catch this one - can anyone who really knows whether its a go post something when its a definite? Thanks much! No idea. I’ll ask the guy today. Shocked me when he said they may not have it Have you seen the news coming from the NHL and MLB? This doesn't seem surprising at all in that context

Lambeau Field and the Packers Hall of Fame is about an hour's drive north....
And, umm... the outlet mall?
(Been a while since I spent any time in the area.)

Just heard from one of the organizers that this event isn’t 100% a go. Last I heard camping was basically a no go and were going to cap divisions to spread courts out. Did this come from Kurt, Eddie, Jason, etc?

I would reserve now anyways before all the last minute vballers get rooms while waiting to find out if it was for sure happening or realize there are no campsites...you know how the college kids work. While there is in fact other stuff to do, I would plan the majority of my day around Friday and Saturday being on site as you are going to see some amazing organic high level volleyball pretty much every direction you turn.

Thanks Modern Day Coach! Any idea why they are having the AVP Next event on Thursday and Friday only, with rain day scheduled for Saturday just in case? Kinda wish they were spreading the AVP event out over 3 days instead of two, but only because I'd like to watch more! We reserved the La Quinta Inn but paid a little extra to make it cancellable (if that's a word) - hope it stays a go! I'm never gonna lose a $600 deposit like I did for the Cancun FIVB again!

Saturday is the main event of the weekend (grass triples) which is why the sand tournament is Thursday/Friday to allow the beach players the opportunity to also play grass triples. In the past it was just doubles on Friday but it's really amazing everyone gets to town Friday afternoon and heads to the beach courts to watch the doubles and ends up being a big party. Bomgren's have always played bout the sand and grass tournament. Zaun played (and won I believe) both when he was here as well.

The doubles is cool to see but realistically its end of qualifier, first few losers bracket AVP type matches, there are probably a few CBVAs of equivalent quality. Thats interesting and compelling - especially now - but what makes Waupaca something I watch every year if videos are posted, is the addition of the different format to the mix. Like Pottstown has grass and old school rules, Waupaca has the trips. Im sure eventually it will get so big in terms of prize money or teams or whatever that players will start playing one or the other but I hope that doesnt happen.

I would guess majority of the matches you will be interested in will be on site at Brighton Acres, otherwise I think they utilize "The Bar" locations. I am sure for any of the beach fanatics that are coming 3 days would be nice, but like what others have said already Saturday is for Grass Triples - basically the midwest Christmas day for volleyball. The Sand tourney really didn't start picking up steam until just a few years ago so don't expect MD type play more so final round of the Q, the first Friday night champ game I can remember people really congregating for was at the EEA Air Museum location but has grown a bunch.
