Ok I'm gonna say something that's been on my mind for a couple of weeks now. This is not in any way, shape, or form to bash or even discredit Joshua Taylor, but I do have concern with team personnel at the moment. The decision to bench/not start Fuentes and Hollingsworth-Santana has made me think about this. There might be a very good reason why neither Fuentes nor Hollingsworth-Santana are not playing right now,. Maybe there's an injury, sickness, or something external... If it's a straight-up benching, however, the situation concerns me. Right now: -Fuentes and Hollingsworth-Santana are not playing -Member-Meneh left the team (for some unknown reason) -Caffey transferred (for some unknown team suspension) That's 4 eligible players that were starting on the court last year. This has all changed in less than 2 full seasons. This is a good team and they have played well for the most part. I don't think the 2 losses to Tennessee this weekend are the end of the world, but I'm curious as to what's actually going on behind the scenes. I can't say this is a trend that I'm happy with. There are some things a 20 year veteran coach can handle. I think that’s the difference with this Mizzou group right now. New coach still learning the ropes.

And I just do not understand how Fuentes was benched. She is so smooth and delivers a beautiful ball One thing that Newsome has over Fuentes is her connection and distribution to her middles. Fuentes was great setting Omazic but now that she’s out, she was constantly setting the pins. Since the change, Dillon, Sauer (and now D’Cruz) have gotten a decent number of sets and are connecting better.

Yes, yes, yes....you are finally asking the right questions and making connections. I can’t wait until the day they are exposed. There is definitely a story.

Uhh feel free to spill any time now... I have thought that it is fishy all along: a 26-year old with barely any coaching experience who happens to be married to a record-holder alumnus and blood relatives of program's previous coaching staff was really the best candidate to take over a power 5 program? Maybe I'm off-base here, but this wreaks of nepotism and it seems that there is a pretty clear trail of issues building up in the program.

Maybe wait a few more weeks before deciding on the coaching decisions?

Mizzou looks much more awake, like they've all gotten their coffee this time around. Missed Fuentes! Don't think I've ever seen Deberg make a diving save quite like that. And for a point with a Dillon pinball assist to keep that point alive!
