If they are going to reseed after each event, I’ll be curious how high a Q team has to finish to get a Q bye in the next event or an automatic main draw slot. So, barring injury or players pulling out, if you are left out of the this Q are you basically left out of the entire series?

I’m sure if an 18th seed is just terrible they could get replaced by a wildcard. Covid tests are Tuesday. They are tested each week.

I counted at least 5 Q blockers Reid could have brought into the main draw. Now that’s dedication to David Lee! He is a man of faith! Has Lee been training? Even if he has this is a short season to be steady. He is a really good blocker and if the sand is hard packed the court will be small for Reid's defense

Plus he is old and has no real beach habits to speak of. Im happy he is on tour, but this is a massive reach by Reid

On the other hand both of these guys have earned enough money so that they should have been able to figure out a way to keep training the last three months while everyone else was in lockdown. Should be interesting and I’d love to see them in the main draw.

Lol I just read a study and published it online why we will see more and more 40 year old pro athletes and Olympians. Bodies holding up better with training and technology and you can’t beat wisdom, focus and experience.

Or Russian, or Brazilian. Even the grand old man of the non-US contingent - Bruno - is only 33.

Nearly every college or league that has brought back athletes at this stage have had a positive COVID test. How many are affected? It is going to be at least one team that will test positive, but how many are we thinking?

No surprises anywhere. I was half expecting at least 1 wildcard, but that would have stirred things up too much. We still might see a wildcard in events 2 or 3 to move someone up to the main draw.
It's interesting to see how much lower the points threshold is for the qualifier is on the women't side, 1644 vs. 2026 on for the men. The points are more stacked on those top 7 teams on the women's side, and more spread out below that point. Molly Turner is the lowest ranked player on the women's side with over 1000 points at Q8, while Eric Beranek has 1238 points and is Q12 on the men's side. However, Carly Wopat has the fewest points in the Q on the women's side with 791, slightly more than Andy Benesh with 788. Funny to look at how the numbers all work out.

All eyes will be on Traci in the Q. I don't know her, never seen her play, haven't had a kid coached by her or anything like that, but it would be cool to see her and Crissy go out and back up all the hype!
