Any word on when the league will release a schedule? I am curious how they plan to proceed since COVID is ravaging the country.

The rest of the teams likely won't be a factor nor did I recognize many of their domestic players. There are still a few teams with out any named players. One thing worth noting is that Ze Roberto is still the coach of São Paulo/Barueri. It looks like he has taken on all of the youth that is newly eligible to play in the Superliga. It's like Club Italia Crai in the Italian League. This will pay dividends in coming years when they will matriculate onto the Brazilian National Team. The league will have 12 teams. Brasilia Vôlei has returned and Flamengo merged with Sesc-Rio de Janeiro. Valinhos appears to have been relegated. It is a joy to watch São Paulo/Barueri play. Lots of young talent receiving opportunity to develop. They beat both Bauru and Osasco (top 5 teams in the Brazilian Superliga) to win the state championship last season. Both Lorenne and Tainara played at São Paulo/Barueri last season and are at another level now.

On paper Itambe/Minas looks like the team to beat. I just realized Cuttino is competing with Sheilla!!! Ugh.. Will she find the floor? Cuttino will have some opportunities. Sheila has not renewed her contract with Minas yet, but negotiations are ongoing. Sheila just returned to play last season after a 3-year hiatus, but her name carries a lot of weight with sponsors and they want to see her in court.

I am very interested in international volleyball (Brazilian, Turkish and Italian main divisions plus CEV and FIVB competitions). I followed volley talk for NCAA-related news of college volleyball for a few years, but only recently registered to post.

Welcome to the board! I am curious what you think Brazil's Olympic roster will be?

Rumors are popping up that Sheila is being courted by Lokomotiv Kaliningrad of Russia. Do you think there is any merit to this?

Macris and Camila Brait have a good chance of making the olympic squad. Many of the other veterans are looking for a comeback, so we may see Fe Garay, Fabiana Claudino, Dani Lins, Sheila, Jaqueline, and Adenizia. Fe Garay and Fabiana Claudino were planning a pregnancy after the Olympics in 2020 and are considering to hold on for another year in order to play. I hope to see two younger players in the roster: Lorenne and possibly Tainara.

I would not be surprised if she has offers to play overseas, but playing at Minas is really convenient for her considering her family situation. As all the top teams in the league already signed their start opposite, she will have to sign with a less competitive team or go play overseas if she does not renew with Minas. She need to get a lot of court time this season if she want to make her case to be in the Olympics roster.

OH: Tiffany Abreu OH: Mariana Cassemiro OH: Vanessa Janke
What's the story on those 3? The rest of their team looks more than capable. Rahimova+Castillo are two exciting players to watch.

Tiffany Abreu is one of the starters. Tiffany is the terminal OH of the team, but she struggles with passing. Mariana Cassemiro and Vanessa Janke are good passers and will probably alternate. If Mariana/Vanessa with Brenda can cover most of the court, Bauru will be a strong contender this season.

Of the veterans, who do you NOT want to make a comeback especially if their form isn't what it used to be and is less than some of the other players?
