Isn't Washington DC's soccer team named "DC United"? Spinning off that theme and the fact that some didn't want the name changed, how about "The Washington Divided". I get the joke, but I can't stand how many MLS teams copy European soccer names for no particular reason. So many of them want to include "FC" in the name, and then you get stuff like "United" just because some of the famous European teams are called that. There are three "United"s in the MLS (and one "Union"). Ten teams have FC in their names, plus another one with CF (the same thing but in Spanish). I have more respect for the three that at least dared to call themselves "SC" for "Soccer Club". The latter is still a nod to tradition but also acknowledging that we're not Europe.

Inter Miami has to be the absolute worst or Real Salt Lake

I think "Union" works for Philadelphia, given the city's place in US history. But yes, "United" and especially FC is dumb for American teams. The worst, by far, has to be Real Salt Lake. Good MLS names: Portland Timbers Seattle Sounders Houston Dynamo San Jose Earthquakes Columbus Crew NY/NJ Metrostars (now Red Bulls, which belongs on the Bad list) Tampa Bay Mutiny (defunct) I'll allow it names: Inter Miami Chicago Fire Colorado Rapids NE Revolution Montreal Impact DC United, only because it's OG MLS Bad MLS names: Literally all the other ones.

Inter Miami has to be the absolute worst or Real Salt Lake Oh right, I forgot "Real Salt Lake". Remind me which king gave them a royal charter? I don't like name but I like what they've done with the brand. They have Utah Royals and Real Monarchs encompassing the "royal" brand.... (Utah Royals cant share the Real name due to MLS having a deal with adidas) I prefer the original names of City+ Mascot or whatever else (what is an Montreal Impact) lol

We can argue about the Inter Miami name (I happen to like it, given Miami's place in Latin American culture) but they have absolutely a top 3 color scheme in MLS.

And rightly so, those Palermo kits are great.

I guess Washington can’t be part of the name because Washington owned slaves? That reminds me, the State of Washington should be renamed. And Washington DC, and University of Washington. You get the idea.
Redskins is offensive, I agree. But I think we’re going a little overboard with statues, renaming things. Most of the founding fathers were slave owners. Hamilton bought and sold slaves for his father in law. Guess that show should be boycotted? It’s a nasty part of our history. No matter how many statues are torn down, it's still a part of our history.
Our treatment Native Americans and blacks was horrible. Then the government made it worse with the welfare system.
