If this was a reality, it would be pretty interesting. The Sun Belt and Mid-Atlantic would be the weakest conferences by far, but all of the other 8 conferences have top-tier volleyball teams. It's an interesting spread.

Hawaii is finally in the Pac-12! At least on paper. In one person's hypothetical universe.

Well that's not a realistic realignment plan.
That said, Disney is having its Q3 earnings call on Tuesday. Will be curious to see what ESPN's business is looking like.

I agree with the article this most likely will not happen. Looked like there was a few more written. I did see some think they the next move is to go to 16 per conference. As most here and those who I have talked to think whenever CV19 finally can be put in the rearview mirror there will be a new normal.

I think the 'Group of 5' conferences collapsing/re-organizing makes a LOT more sense than the big dogs. TV revenues ABSOLUTELY make it worth it for SEC to have Texas A&M in the conference rather than Southern Miss (who makes better geographic sense). Same for the Pac-12 having Utah and Colorado instead of Fresno State and San Diego State. What really doesn't make sense are the American, Sun Belt and Conference USA having massive geographic overlap but all three of them ranging from North Carolina to Texas.

This is fun, theoretically!
1. "Sun Belt" should be called the "Deep South" (and call the Florida/Georgia conference the Southeast or something). And UAB is out of place.
2. "Great Mideast?" Ok.
3. Logos I didn't know before this: Georgia State (blue panther), Akron (Z), Western Michigan (brown horse + W), UNC Charlotte (Green C + pick axe).

Fun barstool talk, but the chances of anything remotely similar ever happening is zero, of course.

Tbh, Forde's still pissed that the NCAA called off Winter championships, along with cancelling Spring sports. His daughter Brooke was to defend her 2019 NCAA championships at Stanford.

By the way if I were King of the NCAA, it would be a European-style pyramid with promotion and relegation. A nationwide Top 12 playing a double round robin. Tier 2 having an East and West. Then more and more regional as you get further down.
