If people are worried about nominating a DA in this climate there's 0 chance they nominate an actual cop But are they worried? I really haven’t heard any serious pushback about Harris being a DA/AG. I certainly could have missed something, though. I haven’t paid much attention to the VP vetting process. It's certainly a factor. Her whole truancy thing probably won't go over well with people, but it also might not matter anyway.

John Adams would be an interesting pick, too. I’d rather pick Sam Adams.🍻

Interesting, a family that grew up here all moved away to cities, they are huge Bernie Sanders fans. I’ve noticed on Facebook they have been absolutely trashing Biden.I was kind of shocked because they despise Trump. I wonder if they just won’t vote at all? Did you miss the last five years of American politics?

Democrats trying to find any excuse at all to weasel Joe out of the debates. That’s a big shocker. Biden has already agreed to a debate schedule.

There will be some who stay home or vote for whoever the Green Party candidate is (I have no idea), but likely in far less numbers than 2016.

In a normal democracy, Biden and Sanders wouldn't be in the same party. Not even close. And in fact, they are not in the same party now, but I hope my point is still taken.

Enh, I don’t think that’s going to matter much, but expect to hear the name “Jamal Trulove” come up if she gets the nod, not to mention what can be seen as contradictory positions on the death penalty.

FreeBall, you are not Ruffda. Ruffda is Ruffda, and you are FreeBall. I know that and you seem to know that, but it's not clear that cutshot knows it. Just having some fun!

It’s immaturely hilarious. Reminds me of seventh grade.

Pragmatism vs. idealism is an interesting topic this year. Do we support individuals voting for the Green Party candidate, even though they have no chance of winning and those votes could hurt our chances of getting Trump out of office?
In most years, I would fully be okay with someone not voting, or voting for their "ideal" candidate, even if they won't win. I feel differently this year. I've been encouraging my friends to be pragmatic, and even if they dislike Biden or wanted Bernie (or whoever) to win, this is the year to understand (and respect) how the two-party electoral collage system works, and vote for Biden. It's sad that's how our country works, but we aren't going to change that between now and November.

For the record, the only two people I am 100% positive are unique and different users are Ruffda and mikegarrison. And the only reason for that is it would be damn near impossible for one person to be that absolutely boring in 2 different ways. I mean...shoot...if I had the option to hang out with Ruffda, mikegarrison, or a dial tone, it would be a calculated decision but I'd most certainly pick the dial tone. When I think of what might be the most excruciatingly painful experience you can think of without actually physically hurting or damaging yourself, I came up with having to take a road trip with those two bananasheads in the same car over the course of multiple days.
Say, for example, the three of us jumped in a car from somewhere like upstate New York and decided to go visit holidayhusker in Nebraska. It would be a really awesomely pretty drive through America's heartland. But being in the car with those two and trying to have conversations? I would probably make it out of New York, most probably thru Ohio, but somewhere between Indiana and Illinois I would for sure hurl myself out the window while we were doing 70+ on the interstate.
I would imagine a typical conversation would go like this:
Me: "Guys! Check it out! Look a that huge herd of dairy cows over there in that pasture! That is SO COOL!"
Ruffda: "Those cows are suffering. Farmers keep them indoors in their barn for 22 1/2 hours. They're only allowed out in the meadows for an hour and a half every day. And they are milked for a solid hour every morning but the most tortuous machines ever. These cows suffer psychologically from having mechanical extractors hooked up to their udders for that long, and if they aren't producing enough milk per week, they are euthanized. And farmers spend pennies on the dollar that they make from the milk they harvest from these cows. They could be upgrading the barns and stalls and investing in more humane living conditions for them. These cows deserve a living wage for the valuable milk that they are providing. The farmers are just abusing them and keeping all the profits for themselves. That's why all dairy farmers are Republicans and Trumpettes!"
mikegarrison: "You know, in this part of the country, the grass and clover in these fields have a really high phosphorous content. The cows graze on this stuff and over time it makes it's way into the milk supply. Studies have shown that milk from this area has a strong correlation to birth defects in children born between April 22, 2007 and November 8, 2016. But only if they have a certain DNA structure that's based in strong Nordic genotypes, usually in the 14th and 15th chromosomes. There's a strong push in Washington to introduce legislation to move the dairy industry in this part of the country away from outdoor grazing in these fields to 100% indoor feeding using corn-based feed, which will give milk from these cows a slightly different taste but will, in the end, prove healthier overall for the consumer."
Me: "Oh...my....God! Are we there yet?"
