This sort of thing is *exactly* why we have government regulations. You know, those things that Trump hates so much and wants to get rid of. oh come on Mike...their are no better stewards of the land than farmers and ranchers because if we don't take care of it, we won't make a living. Your comment reminds me of all the celebrities and CEO's that flew on separate jets to Paris for the special environmental meeting. That kind of stupidity makes the rest of us roll our eyes. The regs he rolled back needed to be done. Stupid, over the top regulations that costs literally hundreds of thousands of blue collar jobs while the rich fly from island to island, and driving around in their gas guzzling range rovers pretending to care so much is so pious is just embarrassing. Really? There's been tons of issues with large scale farming. The biggest problem is illegal dumping or allowing excessive waste/fertilizer to run off.

You make it sound like it's a family business.

You make it sound like it's a family business. I am sure you will enlighten me with your brilliance but most land here is owned by families. A large portion is owned by the Mormom Church and Ted Turner. Both are also good stewards. Most of the farm ground is owned by families but more and more corportations are buying up property.

We have several extremely large family farms here. Many of went to no till farming to prevent erosion. Its been interesting....many are also going back to good ole fashion manure for fertilizer.

You've never heard of large scale corporate-owned farms? And even family farms have been caught dumping. I found one interesting case where some farmer didn't want to go through the expense of incinerating cattle that died. I realize that animals die before slaughter and it doesn't particularly disturb me. However, this guy apparently dumped about a dozen of his cattle on public land. That was a bit on the stupid side since they were branded and they traced it right back to his family farm.

What? Look, dude, YOU YOURSELF were just complaining about those same ranchers putting their feedlots right next to the river. But suddenly now you say they are the best stewards of the land? Make up your mind.

One of my high school girlfriends once accused me of having an affair with the family cow Bessy. She said Bessy was the udder woman.
Thanks! I'll be here all night. Please be sure to tip your servers and bartenders well.
