Flu, however, is not the issue for the NFL.

Does anyone think that some volleyball players will opt out waiting around for a season and just pursue a pro career? I think the likes of Rettke, May and Samedy could have some knocks on their door to play ball.

(While scholarships are guaranteed for opting out of the season, I’m sure that no longer applies if the athlete renders themself ineligible by signing with a pro team)

Overseas pro leagues are also affected by COVID19. There's no guarantee that these leagues would have a season and if they do, the pay scale may be smaller because of the impacted COVID19 season, not to mention lower revenues (from less fans in the stands) and possible loss of sponsors (who are also suffering).
I'd opt to get a grad degree (if feasible). Better long term upside.

They have had a tough time making their way to certain European countries.

I'm sure the author actually has sources, but just about anyone could have written this and still be correct. Just seems like another article like we've seen 3 times a week for the past month. Maybe this one is the one, but every other NCAA/P5 meeting just ends up being a punt. I wouldn't be surprised if a final decision only comes down right before opening day.

How do schools, conferences, and the governing orgs (NCAA, NAIA) pull off such a big slate of sports all in the spring? Nightmares abound! Yeah, that's a concern. The NCAA administers 90 championships in 24 sports... Anyone believe they can do them all in spring?

Say we don't have a championship season for the fall, do you think we could be allowed scrimmages or have a spring-esque season??? Wisconsin could play the likes of Illinois and Minnesota along some locals like green bay. Michigan can play state, some MAC schools and/or Ohio, indiana or illinois schools? Texas has a plethora of good volleyball to make up a decent "off-season" schedule, similar of course to california. That way its not a total blow??
The biggest issue I see in the spring pertaining to volleyball is the select schools with a beach program, with mens volley or those with BOTH! Gym time will be in a crunch between the men and womens and some girls will have to decide between indoors or beach. I think volleyball in the spring would be perfectly doable, if not ideal in the current climate with those minor hiccups. Maybe push the beach season into summer? idk.

My guess is that only the biggest-budget programs could attempt anything in the fall. The cost of sufficient testing for intercollegiate competition is much, much more than it is for just practicing on campus. And if schools want to give hope for a spring season, they'll tell teams that money needs to be saved for the spring season.
