Ok, I just swam a mile and a half in 88-degree water, so my brain is fried and my innards are melting and frankly, this thing keeps changing so often, but here's the latest tally (and please check my match and totals). It includes announcements this morning by the WAC, Big Sky, and Southland. Note that Conference USA is both lists. Also the NCAA told me not to expect an announcement on the cancelation of a fall championship until August 21, but obviously that's done:
Holdouts: American Athletic — 11 ACC — 15 ASUN — 9 Big 12 — 9
Conference USA — 12 left (ODU to spring) Horizon — 9 Missouri Valley — 10 Ohio Valley — 12 SEC — 13 Southern — 9 Sun Belt — 12 West Coast — 10 Total — 131
Postponed: America East — 7 Atlantic 10 — 10 Big East — 11 Big South — 10 Big Sky — 11 Big Ten — 14 Big West — 11 Colonial — 9 Conference USA — 1, the league has not announced, but Old Dominion has gone to the spring Ivy — 8 Metro Atlantic — 10 MEAC — 11 Mid-American — 12 Mountain West — 11 Northeast — 8 Patriot — 7, Army and Navy have both said they will play this fall, if only against each other Pac-12 — 12 Summit — 9 Southland — 13 SWAC — 10 WAC —10 Total — 205

At what point in time will conferences start talking about what spring will/could look like? That needs to be determined sooner rather than later.

Nevermind spring, there is still zero guidance on what fall will look like for those conferences which have postponed. That will have to be determined first. I wouldn't expect any spring plans soon.

Remember that those Spring and Fall practice plans are still up for changes, depending on how the pandemic and the vaccine situation look.
I hope we have a vaccine soon, but the uncertainties of the vaccine testing and the roll out may mean that the Spring may not be a certainty.

Conferences and coaches are already talking about it and have been for awhile. It's probably still premature to have them agree on something and release the plan until it looks like we're likely to be able to have the Spring season.

The NCAA already said they would not hold any fall championships for sports where more than half the schools did not play, right? Do you suppose any schools would still play volleyball if there are no NCAA championships? Maybe just as cover for them still playing football?

They might ultimately get cancelled like everything else, but it sounds like the Big 12 and SEC are still planning on playing.

Why on earth use a year of eligibility when no Championship is being held? Maybe they could just play their seniors? That could be kinda fun!

One way to make sure you don't get COVID is to get eaten by a bear. A little unclear if the bear would get it, though.
PS: I've seen snakes and fish that have evolved lifelike lures to draw in prey. Not sure sure if this bear is doing the same thing, or what prey he/she would be trying to catch.

So, is it possible for a program to run football in Fall, and whatever other Fall sports they can manage in the Spring? If the NCAA cancels Fall championships, as seems inevitable, can SEC, Big12 and ACC volleyball teams still compete in Spring? Or at least compete in a spring Championship if they run a Fall season?

That last option is concerning a lot of people because spreading a season over fall-spring would violate rules governing off-season practice and, essentially, extend the volleyball season across the majority of the academic year. I'm not sure that's going to work.
