Didn’t there used to be a Swiss team that was actually good? Like competitive at the Champions League level? You are thinking of Volero Zurich. As mentioned Akinradewo played there, but also Nicolic, Berg, Calderon and many more. They were a solid Champions League team for a while. The moved to La Cannet (northside Cannes) France a couple years ago. They aren't as strong as they used to be, but are still good.

The site I use is usually pretty spot on with people checking peoples rumors and such. I too thought it was suspicious since I never saw it come across the official transfers list. I'll delete it if it turns out to be fake.

I need a poll idea for this thread.
I thought of listing the top 3-4 favorites for the domestic title in Russia, Poland, Germany and France. Everyone gets 4 votes. 1 vote per league.
Any suggestions?

Toddy, I feel this thread is a really good idea; you are getting (and will get more) newbies to Euroball/international VB, since most NCAA Fall seasons are changed. Differentiating between top-tier and secondary leagues is an important point to make, cos many newbs (and n00bs) will look at the sheer # of teams and go "tilt"; I'd suggest that you go more into instructional mode...not so much doing polls and such...for newcomers here. I get my info from IVC tho I don't post there often.

I just want more folks to follow the pro/international game.

Join IVC! Also wanted to mention that your preceding league summaries are absolutely spot-on.

Not sure about the CL, but they played in the Club World Championships a few times They played in the Champions League and the Club World Championships. Which teams do you think are favorites to win their domestic leagues? For this thread lets omit the Italian and Turkish leagues because they have their own threads.
I think for Russia its going to be a brawl between Dinamo Kazan and Dinamo Moscow. Bricio and Natalia are very nice additions to each team respectively. Plus, as I mentioned earlier in the thread, Moscow picking up Romanova was a brilliant move IMO. She is a shoe in for the Russian NT of which several of their main weapons are playing for Moscow.
In Poland I just don't see how Chemik Police doesn't win the title....again. They have most of the big domestic talent all on that roster. Their setter is back-up to Wolosz on the NT. Add to that the offensive output of Brakočević-Canzian and it's pretty much no contest IMO.
Germany is going to be a bloodbath. Schweriner, Stuttgart, Potsdam and Dresdner are all in what I feel is a dead heat for who could win it all. The former two listed aren't as well stocked on their rosters as in previous seasons where as the latter two have made some massive upgrades.
As for France I have to tip my hat to ASPTT Mulhouse. Madi Bugg, Ivana Vanjak and Tessa Polder are all some serious players. Add to that having veteran Moma as their big opposite, that's certainly making a statement. I also think that Beziers and Volero Le Cannet could upset. I can't wait to see Ronika Stone in action. She's one of my favs.
What does everyone else think about how the teams look? On paper that is.

Germany's battle is going to be the most fun.
Hopefully we can get a consistent TV source/stream
