Would you care to cite some examples? Certainly not the case at Washington or other Pac-12 schools, that I know of. The only times that might happen, it seems to me, is when an extra year of eligibility, which is not simply a formality, is granted following Senior Day. Otherwise, some "seniors" could conceivably be honored three times running. Many athletic departments are drowning in red ink. Some schools are likely saying, "You can come back, but without an athletic scholarship." |
