One or the other may still win, but the lack of RPI Futures and Bracketology really hurt the cases for bluepenquin and trojansc this year. I'm thinking ilikecorn wins poster of the year in a landslide ... Last year:

I usually catch the imposter among us. I'm sus. Holiday has been afk for a while. Maybe he's hiding in a vent.

Wolfgang and his committee did great work on this year's awards. I think the selections are solid (good to finally see vballfreak808 on the 1st team). My guesses for Poster and Rookie of the year: noob (I like an underdog) & bwf2.

Holiday has been afk for a while. Maybe he's hiding in a vent. Or sniped in storage. May be best to not check for awhile 😂

Holiday has been afk for a while. Maybe he's hiding in a vent. I just learned "afk." I thought it meant something else altogether, like something altogether graphically...ummm...explicit and funny if you picture holiday doing it.

I said this to my Committee members today at "our house" and I'll repeat it here.
"I want to express my deep appreciation for the work you did in the Committee this year. We weren’t perfect but damn, when the game was on the line, you delivered! Your ballots looked awesome and the ultimate vote results were even better. I couldn’t be prouder of you all."
We weren't perfect. I've never experienced anything perfect in my entire life. That's what I don't understand about people. You can't seek perfection. As an old boss once said to me, "Perfection prevents you from getting the work done." In many things, it's better to get the work done than continue tweaking it until it reaches perfection, which can never be attained. Well, unless it's life-and-death, sure, you want to make sure your astronauts land safely. But they've got a multi-million dollar budget, but I digress...
Three elements, I think, kept the Committee members "in line," so to speak, and prevented their human side from gaming the vote:
1. We have an internal rule allowing any member to see the ballots of any other member upon request.
2. During the voting period, all ballots went to me and I did not post interim vote results. I did not post the overall vote results publicly in our Committee until all the ballots were submitted, even late into the night. This encouraged, I think, members to vote who they truly felt belonged on the various teams instead of taking a peak at the latest results and manipulating the positions of the various nominees by adding a few votes here and deleting a few votes there. They were not able to "adjust" the positions of the nominees on the 1st, 2nd, and HM teams because they had no reference. They didn't know who was where on all the teams. As a result, I think the vote results look fantastic, better than in all the previous years.
3. I've got the "Delete Account" button. LOL! (Just kidding. Maybe.)

@bigwestfan2 is almost certain to win both poster and rookie of the year. No offense to the long time brethren of the board, but this guy is always popping into multiple team/conference threads with the inside facts and drama. Given the lack of a real volleyball season in 2020 - no, Texas thrashing a weak Big 12, the SEC fumbling around in conference, and the ACC pretending to be a power vb conference does NOT count as a volleyball season - the inside gossip and chatter about the future took center stage this year, and bwf2 was at the center.
