King was setting the right side well during the scrimmages, that should help her. (She played with Kadie Rolfzen in Dresden last year)

You know this league is a joke when a player of Sheilla's calibre is treated as a joke. The ignorance of those captains is downright offensive. i mean.... im not surprised? how much international volleyball were any of these players watching in 2012-2016? Very little? None? Clark was in high school/college. Bastienelli was close/same. Not sure how old Sybeldon is, but I assume she's in a similar boat. I mean, we played her in the Olympic Finals twice in a row.... |

If even elite d1 players of don’t know the names of the legends of our sport how do we expect the common non fan to know anyone in the vball world? |

Maybe it's just me... I don't think its terribly unreasonable that the younger players dont know who she is that’s pretty sad. If even elite d1 players of don’t know the names of the legends of our sport how do we expect the common non fan to know anyone in the vball world? American volleyball isn't based around international volleyball though. I bet you could go into a Nebraska/Minnesota/Wisconsin game and 90% of them wouldn't know who Egonu is but could tell you the starters for their team going back 20 years |

Ironically, why it does surprise anyone that pro level is higher than college. That holds true in NFL, NBA and etc... etc... etc. Unfortunately, since there is little availability of the pro game here in the States... the vast majority of volleyball fans here haven't made that leap. They only follow international during the Olympics and are often ignorant of the successes and skills of our Opponents. A very good reason why we really need programs like this one and the other coming out on the West Coast in a year or so. Really, truly, a lot of these young ladies will improve from this experience and then realize what they need to do to ultimately improve our National team/Olympic programs.

A lot of people are just fans of college sports and nothing more. I don't disagree. I think AU can try to venture to sway some of those fans.... but they're never going to get invested in international league play. International teams are a bit trickier. |

If it only ends being 1-2 pages then it would be fine to keep on here, but if it makes 10-15 it'd be better to have individual threads I think. |
