Even volleyball athletes don't know the legends of the game, there won't be any successful pro league in USA. Yea, not knowing who Sheilla is sucks. I don’t believe that can be true for 99% of these girls. Most of them played professionally... lol

American volleyball isn't based around international volleyball though. I bet you could go into a Nebraska/Minnesota/Wisconsin game and 90% of them wouldn't know who Egonu is but could tell you the starters for their team going back 20 years Guilty. Isn't she that middle who transferred from USC to Texas? No, she was granted a 5th year at Washington

As far as the scoring system goes, it's basically just fantasy volleyball, which should be familiar to many people at this point.
I kind of like it, since nobody is invested in any teams at this point anyway and it's just a way to feature the different players involved.

But your point is spot on. Most college fans don't follow the International game at all, other than to maybe follow their team's former players in the pros, or the Olympics.

No reason they should, unless their coaches, mentors and leaders teach them about our world of volleyball, past present and future.

But who are the other two? I thought slojetes retired. I am guessing the other two are the serbian and the the chineese woman (zing?)? What amazed me is watching the U-17 championship team had Plummer and Foecke that LOST to a team featuring Egonu.

I don’t blame anyone for losing to a team when she gets going and yes the other 2 best players (all in no particular order are Boskovic from Serbia and Zhu Ting from China)

Toliver went live on tiktok and answered a bunch of questions. Someone mentioned Sheilla and why she was drafted so late. Apparently 3 out of the 4 captains didn’t know who she was and thought she was just some old mom from Brazil lmaoooo. She also did start off slow and said she needed time to warm up but apparently absolutely “tore it up and made everyone regret not picking her” today at practice. Some other things that were interesting was that someone asked about what team she would want to be on and she said Aury Cruz because she’s a fantastic coach and just knows how to win. She said she was gonna go live again tomorrow after the game if y’all wanna get some inside knowledge. Was super interesting and she gave a lot of in Depth detail and cool stories. She also spilled Tea on MSU and her disappointment with the way they are trending. Man I really wish I had caught that. So what tea did she spill other than the fact that the program is trending the wrong way? Crap now I have to sign up for tiktok now as well? I just signed up for twitch specifically to watch this league. Im 45 yo man, not some high schooler, I can barely keep up with this technology.

She answered all the questions and there weren’t many people on so it was more personal and detailed than like superficial ya know? Catch it tonight and ask anything you want!

I don't understand how you play volleyball at that level and not know who the top international players are. Apparently they are not fans of the sport they play.

They looked great making it to the finals... where they just got blasted.

Think you mean Hilley/Lilley at setter I forgot they made it to the final... but that was the 2017 that got beat up early by Italy

I kind of like it, since nobody is invested in any teams at this point anyway and it's just a way to feature the different players involved. You can make the scoring system as easy, or as complex to follow as you want. Teams are going to play sets to 25. One team will win & one will lose, so pick a team & root for them as you please. The individual points are really just a compensation matrix. You can get into that or not depending on your interest in stats. It’s like watching NASCAR. I’ll watch a race on occasion to see the crashes & who wins. People way into it sit and watch every lap with a computer open to track who led how many laps and won race stages & god knows what else. Just a choice on how you want to consume the product!
