While I'm for innovation, there's nothing like taking an already marginalized sport in the US and diluting what fans are familiar with to turn people away. New fans don't need a hardly understandable scoring system to become interested. Existing fans certainly don't need a new scoring system to have interest.

New fans don't need a hardly understandable scoring system to become interested. Existing fans certainly don't need a new scoring system to have interest. I think new fans will just see them playing sets to 25 like they would in a college match or Olympics. For fans to be invested in a particular team, you need more than 4 teams in a league, and they probably need to be tied to a specific city. So that just wasn’t going to work. So the individual scoring model with teams changing each week does seem to be next best. And it requires everybody playing the same number of sets.

Hopefully the point scoring for individuals won't be mentioned with each kill or ace or anything they get. That would get kind of annoying after an ace saying 12+ points or a dig +whatever number it is.

AU's stated that games not streamed on CBS Sports or Fox Sports will be streamed on Twitch or Facebook Live.

Anyone know if they are allowing fans? Nope. No fans will be in attendance.
