THIS TRIVIA REMAINS ON AN HONOR SYSTEM. OBVIOUSLY GOOGLE WILL GIVE YOU THE ANSWERS, BUT WHAT'S THE FUN OF THAT?
1) In Greek mythology, what king solved the “Riddle of the Sphinx”—though he’s better known for doing some other stuff?
2) What is the name of the temple on the north end of the Acropolis which features the "Porch of the Caryatids"?
3) What is a "caryatid"?
4) What is an "agora"?
5) In what century did Sophocles live and die?
Source for some of these quizzes is Trivia Mafia.

Oedipus 2. The only temple on the Acropolis I can name is the Parthenon 3. I know this one, but it is eluding my memory at the moment. 4. I don't know this one. 5. I don't know. Maybe around 300 BCE? Why are these questions all about Greece?

Sigh. I should have known "agora". In Assassin's Creed Odyssey, the main character has to go to the agora often.

Hooray for trivia! I was starting to think that I would have to permanently retire from volleytalk as a poster, if not a lurker. 1. King tut. No scratch that. He was Egyptian. 5. 14th century

Why about Greece? It's a theme.
Parthenon is incorrect.

"Temple of Athena" or Poseidon is correct, but there is another name I am looking for, especially since the Parthenon itself was a temple to Athena.
I'll accept "female statue." In this regard, they form the columns of the temple porch in question. ALL columns are essentially human figures, perhaps even female, but the caryatid was the logical extension after the Corinthian style.
Or something like that. My art history is fading fast.

Agoraphobia is literally "fear of marketplaces." Or close enough. Public square in ancient Greece, a market.

The structure I was looking for was the Erechtheion. c4ndle was correct with 5th Century BCE for Sophocles.
1. What is the only body of water that touches Asia, Africa, and Europe? 2. What is the largest fresh water lake in the world in surface area? 3. What is the highest (above sea level) navigable lake in the world? 4. What is the lowest (below sea level) lake in the world? 5. Char-gogga-gogg-manchaugg-agogg-chabuna-gonga-maugg is the name of a lake in New England. What is it more commonly known as? (It means "You fish on your side, I fish on mine, Nobody fishes in the middle.")

THIS TRIVIA REMAINS ON AN HONOR SYSTEM. OBVIOUSLY GOOGLE WILL GIVE YOU THE ANSWERS, BUT WHAT'S THE FUN OF THAT? I like the fact that the text is in red, like it’s a blood oath. In fact, everyone should take a blood oath. Where’s the blade?

#5 is still unanswered. Lake Superior is correct.
