Just wanted to see how other people think the top 5/top 10 will stack up in this years class. There are some obvious stars, but it can be hard to rank them, as some have been playing up as well. Here is my best guess at the top 10 right now. 1. Luke Benson-OH-Legacy-BYU 2. Owen Birg-S/Opp-MB Surf-UCSB 3. Klistan Lawrence-Opp-352-LBSU 4. Ben Coordt-OH-Rockstar-UCSB 5. Gabe Dyer-S/Opp-Balboa-Unknown 6. Noah Keelin-OH-949-USC 7. Kade McGovern-OH/Opp-SG-Harvard 8. Brendan Read-L-Balboa-Pepperdine 9. Cooper Robinson-OH-SCVC-UCLA 10. Austin Stuard-L-Rockstar-USC I am sure I am missing a ton of players, plus because JO's didn't happen last year I don't know that much about what happened outside of the JBI and other Cali tournaments, so if there are midwest and east coast players that are good that I missed, feel free to mention them. These are just guys I have watched, and they are all really good. I put in lots of pins because that is how the list always is for volleyballmag, but if I missed a really good middle or some setters, post them in. Brendan read isn’t even the best libero in his class going to Pepperdine, certainly shouldn’t be the highest in this class. Yadiel diaz is sizably better. Jonah Gilbert probably deserves to be so where on there maybe idrk he’s the 3rd best opp imo

Brendan Read has perfect serve receive, 100% the best in the class, and he also has very good defense. Yadiel Diaz is 100% not on his level, Diaz isn't even the best passer on 352, Grant Strong is better than him. It is very clear who the better player is between Diaz and Read.

I don't think he is as good as Read in serve receive right now, but their defense is similar, and Gordon's might be better. I also think Gordon has the highest ceiling of any libero, because he is probably the most athletic.

Luke is a high flier for sure, I haven't seen either play in person for a year and only Luke on video recently but I go with Klistan for most physical by a little, he looks taller to me with higher reach and hits a higher ball more consistently, Luke will bounce more which is impressive. If anyone knows standing and jumping reach #s for these two please share. I think Klistan actually hits surprisingly low for someone who touches so high. Benson gets so high over the net, but honestly as far as hitting skill, there are many people better than these 2 IMO. They just have raw physical ability. This is obviously super premature, but they are big enough and athletic enough to play overseas and potentially on the national team one day, as is Owen Birg, whereas most of the other top guys aren't quite that large although who knows. I've seen both play, and my boy's played against Benson a few times. They are both phenomenal athletes, but IMO it's not just raw ability, but quite a bit of skill. I put Benson above Klistan on skill, but it's been a year since I saw him, and only a month since I saw Benson. They are both players that are hilariously good fun to watch, and neither have hit their ceiling, by far.

I think Benson makes a few too many errors however. When he played Loyola for high school ball last year he just made a few too many errors for my liking, but that also comes with maturity, and by his senior year at BYU, he will be a complete MONSTER.

Yes at the few Highschool games of his that I made it to benson was making a significant amount of errors, I can’t imagine how he’ll perform under the pressure of a college game.

He will surely improve after a year or 2, the errors will be cleaned up.

Probably not, past editions were published in April-June.

Nyherowo Omene at #4? kid didn't even make the top U19 team in Anaheim couple weeks ago, when they divided the boys up. I would definitely put Birg in place of Omene.
