Tough loss for USC even with Scoles out. I wasn't impressed with Slater's defense compared to what I was seeing from Nuss and Simo in their match up. Court 1 was an epic battle, Slater played great really, it’s just that McBain and Chacon played lights out, it really was an electric performance on both sides of the net. Court 2: Kraft is elite, so there was not much of a drop off with Scoles out at 2. Rutz and Van Winden were like a different team in the second match and showed they are one of the top 2’s teams in the country. I will enjoy seeing their battle with USC with Scoles back in the lineup at nationals. |

Congrats to the Trojans for pulling out the victory! Pair 3 made a valiant effort to fight on. Dreeuws seemed to work out better than Ebertin.
Tina Graudina made more unforced errors than usual. It also seemed like Slater hammered the ball more in dual 2, which was an improvement since Nuss was able to read her quite often.

Really though, what is the problem with USC's streaming capability? They have way too many problems with it. Should not be that way for the preeminent college beach vb team.

Maybe the alumnae should chip in for another two court cams so that we can watch entire games. Maybe it's a budget problem  or technical bandwidth or something. |

Rather than bandwidth, which can’t be a problem as USC is a major hub on the internet backbone, I’d guess that there might have been a buffering problem. Or maybe two hours was reserved and the stream timed out after two hours? Likely not budget as they resumed streaming a few minutes later on Saturday when it went out. Agree that there should be 3 streams. There should be no shortage of cheap student techies on campus. |
