I'm not sure the level of AU will ever surpass "solid former NCAA players". No one is giving up good contracts overseas to make $10k with AU. The high-level players could double-dip if playing in China / Japan (Larson, for example, but isn't she also an investor?), but I'm thinking most would take that time as a break before the Intl. season starts. Depends. I think AU + Puerto Rico is a good gig. (Bastienelli, Sandbothe are doing this and are good enough to be overseas) I think it'll be that (solid former NCAA'ers) but also several recent graduates.. especially the ones who won't get a mid-season contract this winter. (Thinking Newton, Sun, etc) Definitely. It's a great gig for recent grads to get their feet wet and those who have real-world jobs but can still swing an AU season. I just don't think there will ever be a high ceiling for that league is all.

I know DLC and Cruz are playing again... but like can she get KYK to join? That would be cool

Idk if anyone else had this cross their minds or not but with covid year, i know A LOT of athletes were teetering with the idea to stay or go. Do you think that potentially Jordan opened up to some of those using that extra year with an invite to the league? "Hey, if you wanna go another year, dont worry about finding a contract midseason, you will have a spot?"
Especially for those maybe finishing up school, they can play and wrap it up via internet while in similar time zones. I am curious to see if this is the case or not, what NCAA grads will join AU right off the bat.I think of Dana and Yossi type players but I can't really see them wanting too? Maybe? Maybe they get incentivized to play to bring their fan bases over? I could see Hentz coming to the league to maybe find a better footing with pro ball as i feel it worked out well for Clark thus far.
So far it looks we are getting olympic talent in Larson, Akinradewo, DLC, and Lloyd. Much like Sheilla's reasoning to come play, I think Larson could convince her international friends to come over as well. KYK, Thaisa, and other high level talent that are on their way out to combine with the young guns comin in. What they need are players that can play at a high level but can also bring in a fan base, i felt last year, there was not much of either, more skill than the fan base but if you want this to continue, you have to get butts in seats or behind screens.
I am very interested to see who returns, who joins and what others choose to do. Will Edmond recover in time to go overseas or opt for season 2? mmmm

too many middles, too many foreigners #JustTHYThings What's the limit for league play? Is it 3 or 4? the Turkish league is 3. They have Dobi, Carlini, Kingdon, Van Ryk, and now Dixon. I would expect Dixon to be really only for the champions league (or any of the easy matches) it’ll be best for her knee and kinda replicate the small schedule she would’ve had in China
