Cribb are tied with Dalcena at 7040 OR points, but the tiebreak is which team played more tournaments. As Cribb played in 2 more events than Dalcena, regardless of how T2 finishes, they have already clinched the 1st spot.

So the tiebreaker is actually total Olympic points, not total events played as previously reported by VBM. Although in practice very likely to be the same result.

Some more information for the seeding at the Olympics. Assuming the seeding process will be the same as at the last few Olympics and there will be no major upsets in Ostrava, the pots for the draw will look like this: Pot 1: - Mol/Sorum - Krasilnikov/Stoya - Alison/Alvaro - Fijalek/Bryl - Ahmed/Cherif - Japan Pot 2: - Evandro/Bruno - Thole/Wickler - Semenov/Leshukov - USA 1 - USA 2 - Brouwer/Meeuwsen Pot 3: - Nicolai/Lupo - Perusic/Schweiner - Herrera/Gavira - Carambula/Rossi - Kantor/Losiak - Grimalt/Grimalt or Samoilovs/Smedins or Varenhorst/van de Velde or Heidrich/Gerson Pot 4: - Plavins/Tocs (need at least a 5th to have a chance at Pot 3) - 5 Continental Cup winners A group at the Olympics will consist of one team of each pot. Within the 6 groups the top 2 teams as well as the 2 best 3rd placed teams will adavance to the round of 16. The 4 other 3rd placed teams will play an elimination game to advance to the round of 16. After then it's single elimination. What sticks out to me is that Fijalek/Bryl on current form is by far the worst team in Pot1. Pot3 has a lot of in-form teams (Perusic/Schweiner, Carambula/Rossi, Kantor/Losiak) which can make the draw pretty interesting. The win from Brouwer/Meuwsen and the 2nd place from Perusic/Schweiner effects in both teams climbing the Olympic rankings. Brouwer/Meuwsen nearly made it to Pot1, but remain in pot 2. Perusic/Schweiner climbed to pot 2 and pushed Dalhausser/Lucena to Pot3.

Taylor Crabb is on this week’s Sandcast.
Taylor thinks the tiebreak is also weird.

He mentioned that Cribb, Dalcena, Qatar, and both Polish teams will be training in Florida for the heat/humidity the week before July 3rd (so next week).

Assuming the FIVB will have the same drawing of lots system as in past Olympic games, this is how the pots will look like:
Pot 1: - Mol/Sorum - Krasilnikov/Stoya - Ahmed/Cherif - Alison/Alvaro - Fijalek/Bryl - Japan
Pot 2: - Brouwer/Meeuwsen - Evandro/Bruno - Thole/Wickler - Semenov/Leshukov - Perusic/Schweiner - Gibb/Crabb
Pot 3: - Dalhausser/Lucena - Nicolai/Lupo - Herrera/Gavira - Kantor/Losiak - Carambula/Rossi - Grimalt/Grimalt
Pot 4: - Plavins/Tocs - Gaxiola/Rubio - Heidrich/Gerson - Azaad/Capogrosso - McHugh/Schumann(?) - Morocco
There will be 6 groups, each consisting of 1 team of each pot. The top 2 teams of each group will advance. The 2 best 3rd placed teams of the groups will advance as well. There will be a draw between the other 4 3rd placed teams for a playoff match to decide the last 2 teams to advance to the Round of 16. After that it will be Single Elimination until the end.
