I disagree w you about players in the portal messing w team chemistry. It sounds like it would- but every year your team changes to some degree; new players by transfer or freshman. Most of these on the Mizzou team have been together for a few years and all have played through adversity last spring, summer, fall and this spring...... they are pretty close knit. Good athletes come out on the floor and put outside distractions behind them. It’s probably more of an issues for coaches; recruiting not knowing what and who is coming back. Don’t think for a moment that this is a distraction to the players on the floor, they will play their hardest trying to go as far as they can in this tournament!!

WHY THE HELL do they set up the up ref on the camera side?? Talk about disrespect. American viewers who are used to watching basketball are used to being able to see the coaches and bench players at the top of the screen. There were a couple final fours (might've been men) where they experimented with putting the R1 opposite the cameras but I guess it didn't stick.

No Cinderella story in this one. Bummer. Would have been nice to steal a set, but DeBerg was really impressive. Powerful serve.

I feel like Kubik was a little out the age range of say, Foecke. But I bet May and Deberg have played gone against each other a ton. Nope, not in HS anyways. DeBerg played for a small school, May was at a bigger one. And Foekce was out of the way for both schools lol I’m so used to prep volleyball in Michigan, that it seems weird that the top players and top teams don’t see each other multiple times regardless of their size and location. I kid you not, Michigan high schools regularly play 60-80 matches in a season, and there are giant 20-30 team tournaments almost every weekend. All of the best programs make it a point to travel to the most competitive tournaments, so you get to see those elite matchups almost every weekend. It’s definitely a unique system but it has a lot of positives. This year, they only got half the season in, and a team still went 42-3. Lol.

Definitely wouldn't have predicted this match would be a bigger blow out than Pepperdine/UMBC or Notre Dame/Army.

Lol. that seems.... excessive lol Iowa preps just depends on how their coach wants to schedule. The big schools tend to not play the smaller schools because its not worth their time (both Foecke and Deberg were middles for their HS) (well Foecke for sure, im pretty sure about deberg) The big schools will only play the elite smaller schools

Michigan is also very top-heavy so nothing interesting happens until the knockout rounds anyway.
