I give Heather a lot of credit for understanding early (last year) that she was going to struggle in the serve receive game and going with a smaller athletic setter in W. Bower...few setters can get to balls that she can and keep the team in system...reminds me of what Elliot does at Texas and their smaller setter...keep the ball alive and rely on a big block. We really do miss Lake who was truly special. That being said...IMO we are much much better with Ballard-Nixon playing 6 rotations than Robison and are much better with the offensive minded and quick middle in Dodson. Heather has done a great developing Dodson and Livingston and getting the most out of this very young team. Where does Dodson go when Heather Gneiting returns? She’ needs to be on the floor, but there will be a plethora of MB’s for them. and have you seen their recruiting class??? they will definitely be better next year. |
