I don't know and I agree with you. Info about this tournament are still vague. If they do allow fans, there better be some distance from the court and some pretty strict mask enforcements...seems unfair to the players to require them to bubble for the entirety of a long tournament only to potentially expose them to the virus during matches because the audiences aren't maintaining protocols. yeah that actually sounds ridiculous. maybe they'll have a plexiglass barrier? although idk if that can handle Egonu's 100km/hr serve right at it so maybe that's another risk factor LOL

Pretty simple if the audience isn't allowed to exhale. FIVB could advertise it as "we'll take your breath away!"

COVID has been proven to be airborne though. They shouldn’t include spectators especially if they’re calling it a bubble.

There is an update to the rosters. Up to 6 players can be added and only at one point, on June 9. Six players also must leave the roster then. These changes must be made aware to the FIVB/VNL at least two weeks in advance. (the article is in Polish but I think it can be players+staff added/leaving) Players will do two quarantines (one mandatory in Rimini) and at least 4 tests, before and after arriving. I can see Hill, MBH, Washington and Hancock and maybe Krob entering the bubble/joining the team after some rest.

COVID has been proven to be airborne though. They shouldn’t include spectators especially if they’re calling it a bubble. Not to mention they first called it a "secure bubble", emphasis on the secure part to ensure safety for those participating. Some teams could back out if they allow fans.

That's the only name from this quad that is absent. I don't recognize the other two opposites. Also, I thought Malygina was an Opp? Did she swap to MB? Otherwise this is all of their big guns. Good. They are still a force to be reckoned with but not quite at the level they used to be. I will be very curious if they run a faster offense like Startseva did with Kazan this season. She has never looked better IMO.

I read somewhere that she is just now getting back to being healthy and that she was going to make a push for Tokyo. I wonder if that will happen? With Fedorovtseva up and coming and being a decent passer, Voronkova and Kosheleva will have to be careful. They could end up on the bench if their passing is struggling. All of a sudden, Russia just became more of a threat. Pool B in Tokyo is going to be a bloodbath, even more so than Rio. Yikes.

I would expect RUS and TUR to be most concerned about the "pool of death" considering that they're likely fighting it out for the 4th spot (and subsequently likely lose to SRB in the QFs)
The main thing for pool B is to not finish 4th...

That's if Serbia can ride Boskovic to the top of Pool A

That's if Serbia can ride Boskovic to the top of Pool A oh boy i can't wait to see the thrown matches in Pool B if Serbia lose to Brazil....jk
But really, many teams in Pool A haven't been playing that well lately. Serbia's been going downhill (mostly mihajlovic), Brazil is still fixated on a 36 year old mom who hasn't played much in the last few years other than AU, Korea (who actually played well in the WC matches where they chose to play their A team) lost their twins, Japan has always been the same regardless which 12 are on court.
If Serbia doesn't get first in Pool A, or for another reason they play China/Italy/USA in the quarters, I honestly think it's a good chance that Pool B wipes out Pool A again. But I still view Serbia as favourites against Turkey or Russia.

Never underestimate Boskovic’s ability to drop 40+. Especially with a setter like Maja.
