We know what Lowe can bring and we know that JT isn't in the best shape with that injured shoulder. Plummer could have a better shot than both of them if she performs well at VNL. Since when is Plummer an opp?

She passed more in Japan (hit from the left pin too)

Since when is Plummer an opp? She took over many matches her first pro season with limited experience and playing time: was easily best player on Monza. Played both pins before Covid ended her short season

I don't like what she did when she left the team and refused to accept offer abroad. But that's her choice. Just like larson playing in china and UA, krob to china and now japan, or akinradewo, tori and adams who not been playing in what we call "high level" of competition. But their edge against young players are their "experience" they already went to that level and know how to fight and win a game. OG is different level of pressure. Let's be fair with lowe just like what we do with other vets. If we can bring the 3 of them this vnl and have fair play time then we can assess. Larson and Foluke are proven vets. They achieved their max potential. Now they're older and understandably need to rest themselves accordingly or limit their competition. Lowe has chosen not to compete at a high level during what should be the prime of her career. Maybe Lowe will edge out Thompson but it'll based on Thompson's health. Frankly, I'd rather see Plummer over Lowe at this point. Plummer would put up a better block, play better d.

Not to mention her vastly superior VBIQ

As far as i remember she didn't perform well in PANAM. Haven't played in highest level and choose to play in japan. So i don't understand why she is better than lowe at this time when she hasn't prove her self just yet?

As one of the bigger Plummer Stans on this board, I am unsure how much better (if at all) her defense would be compared to Lowe. After her rough showing in 2019, I just want to see her play at the level I know she can play at. She looks to be in better shape/condition and I want to see her given some good opportunities especially since she can be effective on both pins. I know this is something that cannot be helped now, but I can't help but imagine what Plummer would've looked like in 2019 and through this year had she not tweaked her knee in 2018 and not went on the Stanford Europe trip, but rather had an extra summer with Team USA (hopefully I'm remembering the timeline right lol).

They hold it against her personally and it’s so damn obvious lol. If you watched JT this year and think she should be going ahead of Lowe you’re delusional. Plummer is very good but not Olympic ready IMO because I don’t think she’s played against stellar competition yet.

Well I feel like the underlying sentiment here is that we want to see what Plummer or JT (or even SWP) can do since we've already seen enough of Lowe lol. I don't think anybody is writing Plummer down as an Olympian, just excited to see what she can offer.

Saying to not even take Lowe to the VNL from multiple people and that is so dumb lol

No De Kruijf for Netherlands this summer, she's taking a break. "For the past thirteen years I have always played for both a club and the national team. After a tough season in Italy, where we actually lived in a closed bubble all season, I am ready for more freedom and more time for myself." www.volleybal.nl/nieuws/robin-de-kruijf-deze-zomer-niet-in-oranje I will not be surprise if krob, mbh and hill won't make it at least for 1st 2weeks. They need a break and healing so they are more reasy for OG.

I'm not even sure Plummer is being considered seriously as a right side right now, seems like she's seen mainly as a left side. Anyways, I just want to see her in any capacity although I would hope the coaching staff knows she can play right lol (they list her as both an OH/opp for what it's worth).

The point re: Lowe, is we know what she can do (and what she can't)
Roster spots are limited. We dont need to see Lowe do what she has for the past two-three-four whatever years. She's not progressed.
We haven't seen Plummer since 2019. We haven't seen SWP 2.0 at all.
If we're bringing two opposites to Tokyo, I'm not convinced Lowe is a better option than either of them and VNL should be used to showcase that.
