I just want to see Plummer with the national team this time around. She didn't look too good with the "B" team at the random Norceca tournament they were at in 2019 (she didn't start) but obviously she's much better now and she's on the left instead of the right. I'm hoping Plummer makes the most of the opportunity this summer, I'm assuming she's on the roster. I want to see her on the right tbh but I'm all for her gaining more momentum and confidence on the left side going into the Paris quad (or whatever we're calling it). Imoco will also be a big challenge for her, and hopefully she responds well and can be a viable passer. I also don't think her position needs to be so static, but this summer and her time with Imoco will be big tests for her future. There’s a 50/50 chance She’ll be training during the Paris Quad for beach.

Mazzanti’s keeping his whole “A” team at home to prep for the Olympics outside of VNL. Serbia’s doing the same...it’s a risk though. Basically they’ll come into the Olympics with like no match experience this year. Gotcha. I was thinking it was for scouting purposes but theres so much film out there already so not sending them for that wouldn't be smart. But I guess keeping them home to prep makes sense to be rested? I do think with Egonu she will be just fine! but I get what youre saying yeah...to be fair the Euro teams also have the European Championships this year which is a way bigger priority for them. Makes sense to let them rest out the VNL while prepping for the Olympics. Plus Russia and Argentina are their first two matches so they have a couple of warmups before the really good teams.

Honestly, it makes the most sense for her to transition to the beach after Paris but who knows how her goals will change in the future. I'm sure she's giving indoors her all as of rn.

Never forget that Foluke has wanted to hang it up after the end of each olympics to become a Dr …

They're basically Serbia except weaker serving and much weaker OOS. They'll get served off the floor. They'll be solid if Parubets is playing but last I heard she was injured with a pretty serious ligament tear or something.

I also think that Russia is pretty weak this cycle *with or without Parubets* (down 0-2 18-22 against Korea in the olympic qualifier was not a good sign lol) but they are a historically strong team with a good tradition, so it's hard to imagine them being the warmup team lol

I still think Russia has potential to make some noise.
But, they certainly aren't trending well. After winning the 2010 World Championships, they haven't qualified for the Semifinals in the Olympics or World Championships since that point.
4 straight times at the 2 major tournaments they haven't made it past the Final 6 (or Quarterfinals).
