I called Pitt in 5 against Minn and I think they can beat anyone who’s left. Their chances would vary against each of course. That said, my gut (and superior vball knowledge) that told me they’d take out Minny is signaling Huskies in 5. It’s also saying that eating that fourth piece of pizza was probably not the best idea but YOLO. I'll just leave my pre-match prediction here....

I'm confused. Wasn't the challenge for a net violation? No, we're talking about the play where the Husky middle (Sanders?) reached over and touched the ball on the Pitt side, just before the Pitt setter went into the net. The call was a net call. Whether she was over the net or not is *not* a reviewable call. Whether it should be or not, it is not. I suppose that if the call was that "she was over the net but she didn't touch the ball" then it is reviewable. But was that the call? R2 never talked to R1, so she doesn't know what R1 called. She accepted the review anyway, and ruled on what is supposed to be a judgment call. That's abuse of the replay rule by the ref to overrule a mistaken judgment call. Gotcha, I was thinking about a different point entirely. I was only kinda watching so I don't think I even caught the point you're talking about. From your description though, it sounds like whether or not the play is reviewable is determined based on the reasoning the R1 gave for the call (or non-call).

Really glad Washington won - this match was giving me Oregon-Purdue flashbacks when Pitt made their comeback in the fourth set, but glad Washington pulled it out

Perhaps if the second best team in the Big 10 had been able to beat Pitt, the first final four slot would be to a different team. Alas, they couldn't. GO HUSKIES!

You know what Bogomolova's name means in Russian, right? mmmm, no? Literally something like Prayer (Molitva / molit' - to beseech/beg") to God (Bog). (*More commonly understood as the common name for the Praying Mantis, but still...)

How did Washington get a seed? Maybe because they’re in the final 4.

Uh it took y’all’s messy team five sets at full strength to beat them whereas Minnesota was playing down two starters and lost in five. You need medication. B1G lives in your head rent free
