I know nothing about Neelon... however just looking at her stats it appears that she didn't play much this past season (8 matches/27 sets) and when she played it wasn't at Setter (13 assists all year). In 2019 she played more (16 matches/52 sets) and had 302 assists (3rd on the team). However, at 5'9"... I'm not sure that she is the answer for a 5-1. Looking forward to seeing what she brings to the table though... She played in all eight of Bama's matches in the fall before entering the portal in January. Didn't watch any of those matches, but part of me wonders if she was used primarily as a DS (66 digs in 27 sets played). But as you said I am also curious to see what the coaching staff believes she can bring to this team (nothing surprises me anymore).

Simply put, do I think Joe and Susan are evil? No. Do I think there is a diconnect between coaches and the players? Yes. Some people know the game but cant connect with players, others are the opposite. Coaching has been abrasive and not led to growth. At the end of the day, the girls are "real people" to and deserve better from a coaching and personal stand point. I like Mike, Joe is a good man but as stated has allowed this to infiltrate his program. Its time for a reset or for a come to Jesus meeting this summer to fix what is going on. Here's the staff's contact info: goheels.com/sports/womens-volleyball/coachesGive them a call, tell them it's time for a reset or a "come to Jesus" meeting. I'm sure they would appreciate your input. Apparently they arent used to deciphering input or we wouldntd be mass exodus university. Bye.

It seems that you are right, wasnt utilized in the roll she wanted as setter. A 6-2 is good when you have rhythm and pin personnel who can be effective. Not sure we have that...

Another transfer that is a head scratcher...and this was not the one they were primarily looking at as setter. Another visited... If you knew or followed her career from the time she was in HS, you’d have a different opinion in terms of a head scratcher. I don’t know where her playing level might be at the moment... only time will tell if she can get back to that... and if she does...she’s more than capable.

Only a head scratcher because they had another setter on campus that was pretty clear cut...i know her high school, prep, and freshman year at bama were very good and she had some injuries to derail her some.

Neelon does not look bad on paper. Yes at 5' 9" she is a little shorter than most want to run a 5-1, but she does seem fairly athletic. Some great teams run their offense with similar heighted setters, so we shall see what role she takes. Maybe all she needed was a change in location and to get healthy again?
Seems we are getting another transfer in along with Neelon.

Congrats to Scoles for winning a natty with USC beach. She, in the two spot, clinched the championship.

Congrats to Scoles for winning a natty with USC beach. She, in the two spot, clinched the championship. So happy for this kid. Overcame so much. imagine what UNC would have looked like if she stayed healthy and indoor....
She has a long beach career ahead.

kansas state? Northwestern? Walker or Robinson? thanks for narrowing it down. Robinson is following UNC. I never could figure out why she lost her starting spot this year. She came in hot early in her underclassmen years, then slowly faded.
