I think Kentucky should win, but the X-factor is them playing in their first Final Four. It's hard to predict how teams will react to that environment.I was thinking the same thing; then I realized this is a different type of Final Four. Same venue as the regional final, small neutral crowd, and only a 3-day turn around. No additional travel. And, probably not a lot of media commitments.
And, Washington is also playing in their first Final Four (current players and coaching staff).

Sure, I agree that it's also the first Final Four for Washington's players. And I also agree that this Final Four is different than a typical one...but it's still the Final Four, and I think teams are still prone to feeling the pressure of being on that stage. I guess we'll see.

I’ll take Washington in 4. This team made it to the Final Four playing pretty meh. Louisville is dang tough. Pitt is no slouch and finished 30-2 in the previous season. Plus, UW is due to play a better, more consistent match. Fair question- which path is tougher? UNLV - Western Kentucky - Purdue Dayton - Louisville - Pitt And these two teams played a year ago. 🧐 Also, remember that Kentucky plays in the SEC... they have 11 Final Fours combined, which is less than 5 individual teams. And the league didn’t have to play non-conference this year.

At least I hope it wont be like the last time we were in the final four. That was a disaster.. oh wait. Kegan was involved in that match. We came out flat as a pancake. Unreal Such a sad showing, it just felt like Washington never got their footing. That was not the team that had won the weekend before at USC or the one that won the PAC that year. It just makes me sad cause we didn’t get a good match and Washington didn’t show up such is a tournament format.

The Huskies were up something like 10-6 in the first set. Not only did they not "come out flat as a pancake", they were really rolling along quite well. Then they got hammered by one killer service run. And after that they just started pressing *way* too hard. I think it turned out that knowing they were playing in front of 15000 people in what was almost their own home gym was actually a disadvantage at that point. They started over-thinking everything, over-playing everything, stepping in front of teammates to make tough plays because they all felt that desperation.

Yup, just double-checked. UW was up 10-6. Then they got outscored 19-4 over the rest of that first set.

Her serve just killed the Huskies' spirit and her attacking ability (and potential) wreaked havoc on Huskies block/defense and made them uncomofortable and out of rhythm (when UW under JMac was, above all other things, a rhythm/system team). Plus the ability to stick Scott/Slay on Vansant precluded any ability for a Huskies run. I don't think the HC or nerves played into anything at all. It was an exceptionally bad match-up for UW.

They got buried by an 8-0 run from Hancock. Her first serve hit the net and trickled over for an ace. A tiny bit lower, and it's an error.

I don't want to downplay PSU being good, so apologies if I accidentally did that. But I am convinced that the Huskies did go into panic mode and overplayed. It looked to me like every player was trying to make every play instead of working as a team. That team also was fundamentally vulnerable because Strickland, while very good, simply wasn't tall enough. I still think they win that title if Summer Ross had stayed on the team to compliment Vansant, but c'est la vie.

What is the over/under line on "dogs versus cats" jokes during the broadcast?

This is the classic story of a tall team v a not so tall team I feel... I haven’t seen Kentucky play at am in fact so my limited knowledge tells me that I like how Washington can turn it on, when they do they come back from deficits, when they don’t, they go down! I think if I am Kentucky, target the Libero... how many weapons does Kentucky have?

Crenshaw should get every serve and if you’re washington don’t serve lollipops at Curry all night like Purdue did or it’ll be a quick night.
