FIVB allows the ref to 'challenge' themselves. I highly doubt we'd see that in NCAA. Refs would be bullied into it.

Ooh Rowe going a little bit Diva there lol in the interview What happened? She just was getting feedback from Paul in her ear so she got a little snippy and was saying they needed to start over. I don’t mind the attitude lol I just thought it was a side I have never seen of Rowe love her court side interviews

I want the names and employee ID numbers of every official in this match. I have an email to compose. Strongly worded, I hope.

Oh also shout out to Walker. Sis passed dimes. I don't think she shanked or struggled at all.

Holly was like, "SHUT PAUL OFF RIGHT NOW I'M TIRED OF THAT WHINY B!TCH THIS IS MY MOMENT!" Verbatim She said “I can hear Paul in my ear during this interview, can we restart?” which is Holly’s version of “I ain’t gotta do all ur damn jobs do I now?”

FIVB allows the ref to 'challenge' themselves. I highly doubt we'd see that in NCAA. Refs would be bullied into it. MLB allows it too. So does professional soccer. Refs should be capable of using video to get a call right without getting too tentative to make a call at all.

Well had they called that it would have been 23-20 UW and getting the hot Kentucky server OFF the line. If you don’t see how important that botched call was, that’s on you, but it makes you seem a little ridiculous. I never said it wasn't important. I said Washington should've responded better. As for ridiculous, you're the one who seems rather invested for somebody who basically said this tournament doesn't count. But like I said, good game to the Huskies. They will be good in the fall. As I've said before, I'm at peace with the loss, and I agree that a bad call shouldn't have rattled them, but that doesn't excuse the call, and it also doesn't change that UW would have been up 3 with Kentucky's hot server off the line. In a close set at the margins, these things matter....... most other ppl on VT can see that. My opinion on whether or not the tournament should or should not have happened doesn't change the fact that the matched was played and the refs were bad, and I can opine on that.

I know that the challenge is somewhat a story and if I was a huge Washington fan I would be miffed too but honestly that match was not decided on that single call Washington lost 2 other sets decidedly and Cook was being a little too gutsy using so many early on. He knows the rules.
I think the rule should be changed that you do get 3 and keep the last one as long as you get it right but truthfully Washington really executed their plan. They served amazingly and really ran their attack so successfully on the right and blocked and defended well.

Skinner must be so proud. His daughters are amazing! Sarcasm, or just mistaken? (I thought this myself for a few minutes earlier this week.)

well, realistically, I'm for win it/keep it, but with the quality of cameras, many times it really is a 50/50 chance based on a blurry image. That said, I'm actually also for 3 challenges per set. The goal should be to get the calls right, not have a set hinge on an obvious missed call that can't be reviewed. And esp because that's also an insanely obvious r2 call that should have their eyes glued on the net fair, but with that first challenge the four contacts was very clear. The cameras (especially in the final four) are not bad. but they most definitely aren't international quality. Just from the 1st replay used by UW and the touch/no touch call, it was insanely blurry. International cameras make that clear. That said, it really doesn't change my point that until we can get that quality of camera set up in college volleyball, then we need to have the win it/keep it, as well as 3 challenges per set. You just can't trust what the cameras are able to catch or not catch, which also becomes incredibly obvious with any line call as well as touch calls.
Again, and esp in the tournament, the calls need to be right, or as mikegarrison said, it just makes college volleyball look bad.

ESPN loves their stories, so I’m kinda shocked they haven’t talked about Avery’s huge turnaround from last season.
