How many defectors in the next 18 months? Ask Russ Rose That is my concern - although his losses were mostly a result of questionable recruiting. |

IMO many coaches may have their toughest year of coaching with larger rosters and many more high powered players competing. Problems of managing success. Many of a coaches long time normal ways of managing playing time, communication, attitude etc might not work this year.

Summary (there's a lot more to the video than this) Lauren was going to commit to USC.... They didn't answer the phone. So she called Cook and committed there lol She got injured and was playing with it for the last two months of the season. Wasn't practicing.. only played in games. Rehabbed the rest of the time. It was progressively worse and she had surgery in May. She hasn't made a decision because she is still rehabbing. She's not making an announcement until she knows where her body/recovery is at. Lauren's first impression of Nicklin: Are you sure she's not the libero? She's so short. (lol) A couple of additional thought: Both said NE facilities were better than at the other schools they considered and that was one of the reasons they chose NE Both said they supported not allowing schools to offer scholarships until after their sophomore HS year was completed. Edit: They did a good job with their podcast. |

Sobering thought on recruiting - Lauren says she dialed USC four times to commit and because no one answered, she committed to Nebraska. Yikes!

Bergan's interview with a So. Dakota tv station (on Youtube) once gain highlighted the power of the camps, coaches, current players helping at the camp, other high quality players that they get to know (prospective teammates), and the facilities.
