I really hope Kentucky doesn’t serve Eggleston al night. It doesn’t work that well. She always holds up well enough IMO. I want us to serve Peterson and Iosia Was it her defense or passing that got her pulled in the backrow for that Baylor match I can’t remember?

If you tell me which one I’ll pull the stats. Logan never passes like lights out per say but she’s very steady in her 2.10 to 2.15 range every match which is still good and she holds up well when she gets served a ton. I think we would be better off serving the DS who have shown that they can be Broken down. Peterson has been horrible in reception the past few matches.

UT +130 is tempting. I don't think bookies know much about volleyball. I'm sure they don't. It's following the money that has been bet.

Right now I am trying to decide on the craft beers to have ice cold and ready for the Final tomorrow. Try to find something with VB-related names (which would be unintentional, but still) - like Gold Spike Ale by Berkshire Brewing

People sometimes seem to misunderstand that the job of the people setting the betting lines is not actually to pick the winner. Their job is to predict how people will bet, so as to make sure that the bets on one side of the line cover the bets on the other side.

offshore sportsbook odds = UK -160 / Texas + 130 . I am surprised it isn't much closer. what does that mean? Uk is the favorite according to the sportsbook. You have to put up or lay $160 in order to win $100 (yes you get back the $160) but if you bet UT you put up $100 and win $130 (and yes you get back the 100 you wagered).

It was in the match @baylor, and she started getting pulled out in the 4th set for nalani

That is correct. The desired result for the book is that the payout is the same regardless of the match result.

One of my final projects right now is to develop a machine learning algorithm to provide betting guidance on NBA lines.
With only a couple weeks left until I graduate, it's clear that I have all my post-college plans figured out. If anyone needs me, I'll be pounding brewskis at Ameristar in Council Bluffs.

I’m not unintelligent. I understand how this works. Being mindful of sexism isn’t a bad thing you know. It certainly isn’t. Assigning someone’s style of play by play as sexist and chauvinistic however is. I’ve known Paul personally for 30 years and nothing about him or any interaction I’ve ever had with him suggests he’s either. Yes men can and do talk over women, condescend, man-splain........, I’d be the first to call it out. Knowing him and watching him, I don’t see either. What’s hard about that position particularly given he is also knowledgeable about the sport unlike some pbp people, he is often asking Salima questions he already knows the answer to which could appear condescending. I get your points about men, I’m defending Paul from the description of his actions being sexist and chauvinistic. Color commentators for a lack of a better word are sidekicks. If there’s an argument here is that women in broadcasting are in fact rarely in the play by play role, and that an overwhelming majority of the time their jobs as color people or sideline people is because they are attractive. Are we not reading? I literally said I liked Paul but was calling out these micro aggressions. I cited a specific instance where it was particularly appalling. It was my perception of the situation. I take issue with the criticism of Salima when there doesn’t seem to be a consideration of why. In this particular instance she WAS talked over. She WAS mainsplained. Because when you’re a man, you don’t have to be right. You just have to be loud/aggressive. Is that Paul all the time? No. I literally (again) said I liked him. Was that Paul in that one instance? Textbook. And I don’t get why we pull punches. I don’t know him personally, but Paul seems like the kind of person who would want to be mindful. This isn’t a binary of sexist/not sexist. It’s degrees.
