Lol. Right? ( ( ( button pushed ) ) ) It should be noted that anyone caught disagreeing with his unsubstantiated claim will immediately be dragged to the town center and locked in the “you’re a sexist” pillory. You’re not sexist because you disagree. You’re sexist when you explain away sexist behavior (note: see my previous note about degrees not binary) and flat out tell someone they’re opinion is wrong for doing just that. You didn’t see it that way? Cool. I did. I LIKE PAUL (how many times has that been said?!?) but he could’ve done better, IN MY OPINION. I didn’t realize Paul was the type of man that has never been or done anything sexist in his entire life. (Just so you know, this man does not exist.) I’m sure Paul would be relieved to know you like him despite his sexism.

I have not read all 27 pages so I apologize to anyone here who may have already made this point: To get to the Finals, Texas beat three teams that potentially could have beaten Kentucky, but Kentucky has not beaten any team that was capable of getting past Texas, especially Washington, which would have struggled against Western Kentucky. Texas is going to win.

So Kentucky is the favorite based on a national line I didn’t know existed in women’s college volleyball. The poll in this thread has Texas the favorite by a smidgen over 2/3rds. I think the fans on Volleytalk have the correct favorite. Also, as someone pointed out, the two teams in the final tonight played in the fall and the spring. Interesting. So volleytalk, how relevant is playing in the fall and spring in getting to the final match?
I never watched Texas and Kentucky till the NCAA tournament. Looked at the stats in the box scores periodically in matches played and I know the recruiting victories and yearly rankings of both programs since I subscribe to PrepVolleyball. They are similar squads in terms of skill, athleticism and execution at the pins, middles, setters and the backcourt. That doesn’t mean I think one team doesn’t have an edge in those four areas. Just that Texas and Kentucky are in the ballpark in those four areas going into the championship match.
Texas always seems to have great athletes and top players in the front court. This year those five players, collectively, might be the best I can remember from a Longhorn team. Setting is really good, thanks in good part to the surprising and consistent passing from their backcourt. That over the years hasn’t been the best part of Longhorn teams. The Texas block is big, very athletic and lethal. My Nebraska team found that out this week. The backcourt defense has been really good and consistent too.
The edge goes to Texas in the two best teams are playing in the championship match. If they win the serve-serve receive portion tonight, Texas will win the national championship. IMO. Texas has a size advantage in the front court that can’t be dismissed in showing in play at times tonight. Kentucky has a really good front court that is going to have to be creative and highly skilled in generating points consistently on offense. Hitting over the block like Texas does regularly to opponents won’t be a Wildcat staple tonight. The Kentucky team has to generate much more points around the block, off hands and finding small holes in the backcourt players ability to dig. Doable? Will find out and it seems the best chance for Kentucky to win.
Kentucky has to win the serve and pass game. That can be fickle since season statistics and visual affirmation either way can be lost in any one match. I don’t really care who wins tonight but it appears to be a good match by the two best teams in NCAA tournament play here in Omaha. There hasn’t been to many finals in history in which neither the final two teams represent the Big Ten or the PAC-12. I’ll take Texas in four highly contested sets.

Oh no, the folks that have said Texas will win/destroy Kentucky in the last 3 pages have been just passer by fans not Texas fans... but the sexist, Paul & Salima posts that escalated quickly into a sh*t-show was Texas on Texas fans! lol I guess they really want this to get to 30 pages before the match.

So what is Kentucky’s service game like? Do they serve as tough/tougher than Wisconsin?

Those all sound incredible fruity.. and good.. Well this IS vbprisoner we're talking about here. Everyone does love a man with a plan. I picture him in his Barcalounger, feet up, his little red "playmate" igloo next to him within reach. You go, prisoner! Well trainermch you don't know me very well then! That description above is very inefficient. I got the Deluxe George Costanza model Barcalounger! It has a refrigerator built into the side arm of the recliner on the right that allows me to just press in gently and the door pops open and I have access to 6 cold beverages! Also I paid extra for the fold out arm table on the left side arm that will hold a block of cheese or chips and salsa... but I do not double dip my chips!
