Forgot about UNO and I don't know anything about KC.
I have to apologetically admit I'm a B1G TEN snob so I don't know a ton about other conferences. The Summit is being added to my "Will Follow" list with the inclusion of the Tommies.

Forgot about UNO and I don't know anything about KC. I have to apologetically admit I'm a B1G TEN snob so I don't know a ton about other conferences. The Summit is being added to my "Will Follow" list with the inclusion of the Tommies. As a Summit fan, I'm also excited for this upcoming season, and about the inclusion of UST. Just having a presence in the MSP metro will be great for exposure and recruiting for all the conference schools! Many of us already recruit that area heavily in multiple sports. I feel like there has been some real momentum in the conference's national profile over the last few years, so this will be a good season to pay attention to. The goal for this mid-major conference would be to ultimately be getting at-large bids in most years, and be competitive against regional conferences like the Horizon, MVC and Big Sky. We will see how far we have come in the non-conference season fairly quickly. Omaha and USD both will have some high-profile matchups. Creighton and Missouri both play multiple Summit teams this fall.

Some bumps and bruises to start the Tommies' season.
Lauren Galvin is looking like the go to player on that squad.

I like that UST still has a few players, including starting setter and outside in the opening match, from the 2019 DIII team.

The Tommies have only been swept once. Also, they have quite a few Tue / Thu home games, so Twin Citians who want to watch them and Gophers can often do just that. Actually, one could bounce around a pretty small area more or less the midway to see 3 teams (adding Concordia). (I know locals know this but maybe non-locals might find it interesting). Of course Macalaster, Hamline, and Augsburg D3 are also in this same area (and St. Catherine's a few blocks south of this map). I think that's it

Tommies took some bumps and bruises last night. All part of the growing pains.
Lauren Galvin remains a bright spot for this team.

I had St. Thomas at 4-24 in my preseason prediction and I feel pretty good about that number. St. Thomas is behind D2 Concordia at the moment but that is not a surprise. Concordia would beat at least 1/4 of the D1 programs in most years. It won't take long for St. Thomas to get very competitive in the Summit. Thanh is a really good coach and St. Thomas was fortunate to have a volleyball coach be able to make the jump from D3 to D1 pretty seamlessly.
