They would need 3 other institutional members to block entry. Who else would be willing to reject them? A&M, Mizzou, UT ( Tenn. ) these are pretty sures

It's August!
So, how do we fill the void caused by Morgan O'Brien moving on? With everyone else returning, would be great if we could just plug in a new back row player, but we don't have any new additions to do that.
Most expect Nalanis Iosia to win the Libero job. So, who then steps in to fill all of Nalani's back row responsibilities (including being the and secondary setting option) at one of the DS spots ?
I don't want to overlook walk-on DS Reilly Heinrich; but, I'm not expecting her to be part of the regular back row rotation. Maybe she'll surprise us.
That leaves Melanie Parra who could possibly see time playing 3 back row rotations (if she doesn't resume her role as a 6-rotation hitter in our "smaller" lineup).
Not sure what role Saige will play this coming season. No idea how good her back row defense and ball control are.

That is the best part of her game as a bro. Fields will have the chance to play 6-ro OH. She was passing in Anaheim with the CNT. Saige is a setter.

Depending on how good Saige is and if Parra plays 6 rotations we could see Jhenna move to DS to fill the role of Iosia and saige or Cabello start at setter but I guess it all depends on Saige. Or we might see the same ineup as the championship but have Parra playing 3 rotations in the back.

That’s nice to hear about Fields, there was a few times last season where she would pass dimes and hopefully it has become more consistent. That being said, I feel like she’ll be moved back to opposite but who knows what will happen.

Blocking is also the issue for Parra playing front row - as I said it would be before she ever got to Austin (and texastothehouse tried to stop me posting in the Texas thread because he didn't think I was a Texas fan)!

I see people in here tend to hang on to the past. I simply said Parra was a special player and before she came, multiple people not just you said Parra would not get playing time and behold she came in and started immediately after two months of being on campus. Its also funny because I just watch the Baylor match and the announcer said Jerritt told him Parra was one of the better blockers and had a "deceiving block". He said he needed more kill production which is why he went with the fall lineup in the tournament and honestly the Erwin Center really didn't do Parra justice because she will definitely have more kill production in Gregory. I just believe Parra is too good to have on the sideline especially her serve receive.

I sure would like to know about the discussions Saige had with the Texas coaching staff as far as how she'd be utilized this coming season; yes, I know that's wishful thinking. It could be as simple as she was told she'd be competing for the starting setter spot in a 5-1 offense.
