The biggest question mark is obviously setting. Does skinner try to find someone in the portal or roll with Grome and/or Rutherford. Either way this team still has so much talent to make a run again IMO. Madi and Stumler full time together will be fun to watch. I honestly think SKT would be a good get for UK if scholarships are available.

I'm sure the first two have been working to fulfill Lilley's shoes and speed. I doubt he will look for a setter unless it's Lilley's twin who sets just like her.

Yeah I tend to agree. No matter what we’ll take an obvious step back in that area so you may as we go with what you got.
Also I noticed we don’t have any ‘22 committed to this point. I don’t follow recruiting much so is that expected or are we just being selective/not have much room for that class.

Or is that the '23 class?

Seems like UK is good on L/DS players but saw Lexington native Keyton Kinley is in the portal. She is a former BIG 12 Libero of the year at Oklahoma.

Also, I know that Kentucky came to Austin in 2018 and I was hoping there was going to be a return trip to Lexington scheduled for 2020. I wonder what the chances these two will play in the 2021 regular season?

I have not followed UK over the years but have the run a 6/2 under Skinner in the recent past? I get the feeling that if it's close, Grome will get the nod and Skinner will have another 4 year starter. Grome is not going to be Lilley (no one is but she will have to set in her shadow and the Natty will make the shadow a little bigger) and Grome will have to prove herself at net. How many top 15 programs run a 6/2?

I haven't really seen Scheitzach or Grome yet so idk what would work best for Kentucky. I know Lilley was hurt for a bit last szn and Scheitzach stepped in, does anyone have a youtube match of one of those games?

One of the big questions around the 6-2 is whether the fast offense we saw the last 4 years is Lilley-style volleyball or Kentucky-style volleyball. If Lilley leaving means Skinner goes back to the drawing board with his offense (and let's give him major credit for how creative he is and how he's able to adapt the team's style to the players; see: Tealer), then I think a 6-2 is slightly more likely. If he tries to maintain the speed (which I think is likely because of Stumler), then I don't see a 6-2 working. It would just be too hard to get consistent sets out of 2 different setters in that style.
If he does do a 6-2, I'd like Grome-Rutherford. Rutherford hits in the front row, sets in the back row, and you save substitutions.

Stumler is so good in a fast offense. tealer is very good as well. Those are two great places to start and the others were able to follow. Lilley, of course, was able to set that offense. All about using the personnel correctly
