Agree that passing is an important component; but I could give you coaches that would feel defense is more important and there are a lot more variables than just the pass. Side note: these coaches are wrong. Haha...some would call that antagonistic! Just messin' dunc...enjoy the rest of day!! Go SEC!

Recently, I think it had to do with Mississippi State challenging for the conference title. That's about like Vandy in contention for the SEC football title. Of course, most SEC fans are going to root for Vandy over Bama in that situation. Completely understand this. The big difference is there are like 2 UK fans on this forum -- there would be like 100k Alabama fans if this was a football forum. The Florida match was the one most puzzling to me. Hard to play victim when you are the SEC champions and reigning National Champs, but I was shocked that 99% of the posts were cheering on Florida. Florida is still just as much of a blue blood as Kentucky, if not more. Can't speak for others, but I was pulling for UF over UK purely so MSU could get a share of the title!

People are allowed to have opinions about what teams should make the tournament, and which players should receive post-season recognition, without being accused of hating on other teams (or players).
I was (am!) pretty opinionated about whether SC and Ole Miss deserved to make the tournament, but I don’t hate either of those programs, coaches, or any players on those teams. I don’t think they suck, or that they did something wrong. (I do think the Committee erred, and I don’t mind saying so.)
However, I will eagerly be cheering on all of them in the tournament. I don’t think I’m unique in this regard, either.

End of the day we need to cheer on SEC. Regardless of thoughts or opinions on if teams are tourney worthy or not. Winning =good for SEC

I don’t think I’m unique in this regard, either. My issue was how you framed your argument. The SEC actually received 6 bids to the tournament, not 5. We were not in competition for a certain number of SEC slots. That's not how it works. I wish all 3 teams made it in. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. In the blind resume thread, Arkansas finished last. VT posters didn't like the Hogs' resume, probably because of their 1-9 record against top 50 teams. That lone top 50 win came against South Carolina (without Mikayla Robinson). South Carolina's RPI HELPED Arkansas (and every other team in the conference). Not hurt them. That's my point of emphasis.

I understand all of your points, and I am very aware that there is not a designated number of slots for a conference.
But to me, this focus on "resume" is really quite silly when there is face-to-face evidence about which team is better. Arkansas swept OM and SC in their own gyms. SC was one of the last teams in. Arkansas was first team out. Arkansas proved that they are the better team, just last week. Period.
Shorter: Resume, schmesume. Who's the better team?
And, yeah I know that's now how it works.
I just wish Mikayla Robinson could play in her last NCAA tournament -- it is a heart-breaker that she can't. And that alone should make people ready to cheer for SC, imo.

Ok, off the wall question here. Can the "sound" of the ball off a persons platform throw off the setter/hitters?? I call bs but I'm not a coach or player.
